Luke Brooks #167

Why, he’s been off for 2 months or more ?
Surely it’s not injury related.

You reckon he was sitting at home watching by tv while out injured?

The NRL has rules when it comes to the length of the off-season - the longer you’ve been in it, the longer you have off post season (regardless of when your season finished)

Remember the article where the Tigers tried to get them training until the grand final and the RLPA squashed it.

They can come back earlier if they wish…
But I don’t know any employees that voluntarily come back to work 2 weeks early from holidays
- for the same amount of money.

I was hoping to see some news by the 4th. Starting to just accept that this albatross will be hung around every WT fans neck for another season. Lets hope Sheens can find something in him.

Most NRL contracts take longer than a few days to register with the NRL and then clubs make formal announcements.

To release a player though it's normally a next day activity with the NRL provided the right activities have been undertaken via the respective management team & club but those activities behind the scenes often take months due to salary discussions and sponsor agreements.

Normal cycle to release and sign a player is about 2 weeks with the NRL after all other activities are performed

Given Nov 1 was the formal day NRL can get contracts I would say most teams will be mid-end of November with announcements.

I didn’t know about extended time off for longer term players, but was aware the Tigers weren’t allowed to start unti Nov1.
