Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

This is not about hating , or loving certain players, Yes we are building our forward pack, but we had the worst spine in the game ! It would be lucky to make an impression in the NSW cup !
We have since got Apisi, and Stains, - that leaves us with the 6 and 7 which we have Hastings, a clever footballer who was bought as a 13 tried at 7 with minimum result, AD bought as a FB where he failed , moved to the halves with minimum result, and Brooks who has not reached the heights we thought he would. Yet people think these are the people that will get the side up the ladder'

GET REAL,!

I dunno Lauren any more idiotic to stay here and carry the weight of a fan base sick of losing with him being at the top of the most responsible list for many - longest serving player to not play finals footy and all that other crap he cops
A change of scenery might at least give a new lease. Mentally if he is checked out and keen to play with Joey Johns not sure what Sheens will offer when the familiarity of the place probably is what he needs to get away from.
Sorry my comment was more a jab at the Knights. They're in a world of trouble if he's their missing piece of the puzzle. No offence.

Wasnt offended at all Lauren no apologies needed. I agree that Newcastle is also not
a great option but it appears its the only one he "reportedly" is linked to.

Like I've been saying...

Wests Tigers legend Benji Marshall and old front-rower Aaron Woods recently bumped into each other with their families on the Gold Coast.

This would normally be a ‘Spotted’ but there is a lot more to it.

There is very strong mail that the veteran forward could be heading back to his old club the Wests Tigers for a fairytale final season in the NRL.

That a big third-party sponsor, not currently involved with the Wests Tigers, wants to contribute to make the deal worthwhile.

Woods would not comment other than to say he is still under contract to St George-Illawarra.

However we understand the Dragons will not stand in the way of the 31-year-old prop who has played 252 NRL games, 136 of them at the Wests Tigers.
The Tigers currently have 27 players contracted for next season. English forward John Bateman will take them to 28.

Woods is obviously not the same player as he used to be when he played for the NSW Blues in State of Origin and was always one of the first forwards chosen for the Kangaroos.

He did however manage 19 NRL games for the Dragons last season and 24 for the Sharks the year before. He played solidly each time.

Woods’ experience around the younger players would be invaluable at a development club and in a system where coach Tim Sheens and Benji want to introduce a number of promising rookies.

The veteran would love nothing more than to play his final year in his old jersey.

He left the club after the 2017 season for a big money deal at the Canterbury Bulldogs before switching to the Sharks and then Dragons.

The Wests Tigers have also considered making a move for Newcastle prop Dave Klemmer, who is one of Woods’s best mates. (DT)

O'Brien sounds like if he doesn't get Brooks his coaching career is over he is so desperate he will bite Sheenius Just has to hang in there to get the right Price maybe 900K of the contract paid for if Brooks doesn't want to be here he won't

And I was told before that Brooks doesn't like Benji so see what happens
I wouldn't want my NRL coaching career hanging on getting Brooks.

Ch9 reporting Twitter laying off over half its workforce. Frequent users of the platform/signing confirmations you have my sympathy. Things are going to hell!

He also played when we sucked and in some games struggled to score any points. didn’t score a try against the Warriors, got thumped by the Bulldogs, struggled to score against the Dragons & Knights.
And? Not understanding your point on this discussion. Never said Hastings was the messiah but he’s been a leader on the field. Something we’ve lacked.

Well when you see the way Farah and Marshall treated 7's over the years can you blame him or any other 7 .....

On low $ he would be an asset . His heart was always in Tigertown. PS. here comes the haters!

Yeah AD was outstanding as his partner in the world cup. LOL
But he’s at least played in one. How many has Brooks played in? Brooks is even eligible to play for Wales and he’s never been picked for them. Not saying AD and Moses are the greatest halves, but they have at least played internationally. Brooks won’t achieve that with us or at another club.

Didn't realize he was of Welsh origin ...can he sing as well as most Welsh males can ??

Notice he never said he wanted Brooks to play half?
He said he had speed, was brave etc.
Didn’t mention he had a brain… 🤣
He does appear to lack to lack some grey matter, or self belief, but i do see a talented footballer in him. Lets see if Sheens and company can get through his thick skull in 2023, or he's GONE.

You are as usual missing the point.
