Only 2 halves in squad

With 3 spots still spare I'd imagine one will go to a back up halfback. Also think Zane Camraux prob next up given he is full year train and trial

I think if Will Smith trains well over the off season, he's the guy. T&T currently, but can be upgraded if he impresses. Or someone in the 30 gets tapped mid-season, like this year and he gets upgraded then.

Is the consensus that Laurie will be in the halves and Staines at fullback?
In my opinion, yes. Staines has that x-factor with his speed. I guess it depends on Laurie though and how he looks in the 6 shirt. I like Laurie as a player, but I think Staines will be better, when given an extended run there (at fullback).

Wouldn't make sense to have Brooks, Douehi and Williams/Moses there. I'm guessing we are in the market for a second string halfback/utility like Schneider from Raiders, Albert Kelly, Blake Taffe etc.
no halves are signed past 2023. Even though its mentioned that its Benji's team in 2025.. I'd image Benji will have a big say which halves are signed up for now onwards.

Hope Benji's a Williams fan then, cos I am! I know it's wishful thinking atm, but we seem to be making the right moves, so let the magic continue for a bit....

I think that Laurie will be kept at FB and if Ken M is gone(dont know anything yet),Staines will play on the wing,LB 1/2,AD5/8 seems to be the go ATM...
BUT as always things arent as they seem just yet...bring on 2023....Good thing about Staines is he can switch from wing to FB with no worries if things change...

Williams still has 2yrs left on his contract which means either paying another transfer fee similar to the Johnny Bateman one being talked about or offering a player in return.

I'm going to try to get to a few more lower grade games next year.
It's hopeless trying to gauge who's who in the zoo.... particularly when in Brisbane.
I wonder if I could pitch a tent in the COE grounds?

Weekend trips stay at mine bro.
Walk to the COE up the road,
3 pubs on the walk way up haaa

Hey yeh, that would be cool. We'll work on that, maybe get a couple of other interested members as well 👍

Not assertive enough for me....
Doesn't go looking for work.

Can't hide in the halves.
Laurie is developing. Needs to concentrate on his own game but that doesn't stop him from doing a lot of talking especially getting the D right, he needs to control that like great fullbacks do, like Slater.
Anyway back to the topic, we just got a Wil Smith that can cover injuries, hoping that our youngins coming thru will develop for 2024-5.
Something tells me that Sheens isn't finished yet.

I have doubts on Laurie playing in the halves, depends i suppose on pre- season training,. To me Stains suits the FB role, has played a lot of junior football in that role, has great speed and would have spent a lot of time watching Edwards up close. Like halves, all the top teams have very good fullbacks. It's all about the 1, 6, 7, and 9 .

Benji will pull a skando! Captain / Coach

With Tim Smith + Staines, Laurie, and Starford able to play in the spine, hopefully should be ok.

Sheens would love an opportunity to find his next Fitzhenry though.
The more I saw of Starford defensively ...the more I disliked him

I've just realised that in the confirmed squad posted by king Robbie the only halves are douiei and Brooks and possibly Laurie.Thats a bit skinny if there's an injury?
The Sheenius loved to play Robbie at 7, had him play there about 20 times in 07 and 08 when Johnny "Cronk" Morris wasnt working out...............Hello Api
