It is hard to reconcile the value principles of people who congratulate brave Iranians, and at the same time attack the bravery of individuals/ teams who reject wearing arm band/jerseys.

Thats different....taking the knee was a part of the BLM movement because G Floyd died ,,it was a stick to beat decent people with...the Iranian women being beaten and killed because they want freedom and not be ruled by a religion is totally different...
I dont want to keep conversing about this subject,however Im free to have an opinion even though it doesnt conform to your opinion on the matter...LGBT etc doesnt interest me and I want no part of that garbage....

Okay, so it is good that people are protesting because a woman died in custody in one country, but no good for those protesting over the death of a man in custody, even when bystanders were telling the officers that they were killing him in broad daylight, in another.

Righto, and anyone that your God created that isn't heterosexual is garbage. Got it.

For good or bad, politics, sport, religion et al permeate through each other. There is no, and probably can be no separation, even if some try through constitutions.

That's not entirely true.
Yes they recounted votes..BUT not the signed envelopes which verified mail in votes , they had miraculously disappeared.
They could also not investigate electronic counting machines and they were denied the sign in information.
Who will ever know one way or another in regards to the correct vote when things are hidden . You would think if there was nothing to hide they would put everything on the table and not fight against it through the courts.
Glad Australia has a simple method that is used the country wide , and not states manufacturing their own electoral rules.

I have voted on the day under those electoral rules for 38 years and not once have I ever been asked to show ID, just state my full name and off to the booth. Once or twice confirmed my address, and no questions about voter fraud as it is a minuscule issue.

You are correct in regards to the AEC being one of the best electoral organisations in the world.What they have in the USA is archaic and at the whim of whoever is in charge of each state.
I am not always impressed with our election results but at least it is democracy at work instead of democracy thwarted by individual states.

Even if they did ask for ID here would it really matter ?

It's completely different. Isn't it.

The arm bands jerseys are about gay and other rights and even recognition of a minority who have been discriminated against within society.

The Iranians are about the rights of women.

So isn't it completely rational to believe that gay people in western society (and others) and women in Iran deserve recognition for their struggles within society ?
