Having said that, all this talk of crabs . . . . I'm going fishing on Wednesday and had a new urge to take the crab traps, but it's a poor tide for 'em. Next time for sure.
basically its the claws and swimmer fins,fat in the shell yum,pick the top clear layer off the legs section,then scoop out meat with a finger .,but on the swimmer leg,pick off top,and take of the fender on the side,jiggle it and its like a mini drum stick.ps imo leave the females in the trap,you will always catch more over time

Yes Merlot. Finicky bloody things blue swimmers are. Their one positive outweighs all the drawbacks !
I always leave the females in the trap. I call it the crab nightclub theory.
Happily release them at the end of the trip !

Fresh mud crab ......don't add a thing bar salt when you cook him ......

Sous vide meat is great. I either BBQ/smoke or sous vide all my meats these days. with sous vide, render the fat cap down to finish it. once enough fat in the pan, add the extra flavours (garlic thyme/rosemary or whatever, or add butter and do this), spoon it over the meat as you sear it.

steamed in a bowl, asian inspired barra( skin on,belly piece with lots of fat on it)thats a lie,those pieces have disappeared from the shelves for xmas,thai salad. 7 veg salad via chopsticks
 
I'm not much of a fast food guy other than a kebab or a Bondi burger from time to time....

However Maccas has brought back an item I've held close to my heart for a very long time....

Many good memories with these things...

Worth a try - not as good as I remember though.
