Our forwards are far better,with some young blood coming through, maybe very good . Our 3/4 's are ordinary,and we need more speed outwide. NOW! the spine 6,7,9 and 1 are our big weakness'.
Api at 9 brilliant, and will benefit the forwards and the halves, Brooks at 7, a natural half, quick and tough, has an unreliable kicking game and has not shown the brilliance of the top players in this position. With the side we had , it would have been difficult to shine. Sheens and the new coaching staff would have spent hrs watching last years games, and think he's worth sticking with, besides there are few halves on the market. Doueihi at 5/8 ,bought as a FB , and tried at 6 , a bit slow for the position, has an unreliable kicking game, plus suspect defence. Again not many 5/8's on the market, and he showed some glimpses of form. Laurie. a forum favourite.at fullback , not quite up there as a first gde no 1.
