I think he meant he was actually running the plays with the players, unlike most coaches who are standing on the sidelines calling out instructions

I’m not a fan of him running the plays…
It’s not his team anymore - he has actual NRL players for that…

You'd be surprised how many coaches and or assistants still actually train with players

Back when the long runs were timed in pre season Bennett used to beat players home when he was in his 50s

Um most coaches don’t physically run the plays & show the kids what they should be doing. Most instruct only. Was the point……
