He's our highest paid player and has had my support for nearly 10 years... in which time he has consistently underdelivered.
I seriously doubt he's got anything more to offer as a halfback - hence why he was moved out of that position this year and we're looking at other options into the immediate future.
I have no problems with him playing anywhere except at halfback where he is a very poor decision maker.
He went ok playing as a five eighth where he didn't need to think as much.
That's his spot.
We need a real halfback.

Reality is Brokks is here Hastings is not, Newcastle number 7 jerseys that way.
For 2023 he is the best option at 7 for Tigers, 2024 hopefully we get Moses.
Douhie is not the answer at 6 in 2024 for the club, not saying he may not be the answer at centre or lock but he has an issue with defence. Long term 2024 Brooks is the answer at 6 for the Tigers.

Doueihi is statistically a better 5/8 than Brooks.... he has more attacking output & is on half his salary

Don't believe Douhie has...
Let's see if Brooks can do a restructured deal like Lawrence did if he can do that then his money can be spent on other players e.g. Moses

Again Sheens disagrees...
Sheens has never coached Brooks either let's see what 2023 brings
At present unless we get Moses in 2023 Brooks is the only option at 7, I would like to think supporters on here would like Brooks to do well because if he is going well then the team is going well.

Besides which he obviously doesn't regard him as a halfback if he's looking to buy a replacement already.

He didn't regard Hastings either...
He could have got rid of Brooks but reality is he has not

He had a chance to get rid of him but backed him. Let's see what he can do with him next year. Getting rid of Sheensy was the worst decision this club has made. Its good to see him back.

So what? You haven't been paying attention if you don't think Sheens has got some poor player selection in his game. He was publicly, brutally punted for going full Sheenius.

Now that he's even older, and a decade out of the NRL on the back of a the clubs first spoon which he had a huge part to play he's all of a sudden the messiah lol.

You Brooks cheerleaders are a weird bunch. Will literally force any narrative to prop up guy who is shit. Has always been shit. Will continue to be shit.

I don't believe the part about salary. I'm sure Brooks is on a back ended contract and it's too much because I've heard Sheens state they are trying to renegotiate his contract.

In stating that the stats show that Doueihi is a better 6 than Brooks.

Doueihi has been on good money.

Stats also show Brooks won Dally M halfback of the year too but some fans don't believe this.
Stats can tell a lot of things

Surely no one is viewing Brooks as the answer at 7 anymore. It's about who is the best 6 for the team.

The stats appear pretty clear cut that Doueihi is better.

I think the issue is contract cost. I know this doesn't sound right but it's not the current contract that is the issue but the next contract.

I'm not sure about this. I think Sheens tried to get Doueihi and Hastings to re-sign with us but then balked at the contract costs.

I accept that I've also heard Sheens talk about speed in your position as well.
