Adam Doueihi #227

I'm laughing at this one because I thought it was a load of trollop. I argued that Hastings was bought to replace Brooks at 7.

Just to be fair to us Sheens was stating that we were going to play Hastings as a ball playing lock and I assume Brooks and Doueihi as wider running halves. I assume because Hastings was going to be the organizer.
“Assume”, makes an ASS of U and ME.😂

Since Brooks 'Strength' is his running game I decided to look at another stat which is tackle busts.

AD TB's per game 2020: 3.6
Brooks: 1.9

AD 2021: 2.6
Brooks: 2.3

AD 2022: 2.9
Brooks 1.3

Well again would you look at that.

Brooks fans ducking for cover 😂

Like I and others have said, let’s see in 2023. He’ll likely get a whole off-season to train at 5/8 for the first time and will be well removed from the second ACL surgery. While recovery is usually 9 months, it generally takes a minimum of 12 months to start to feel truly comfortable and trust the knee.

No offence but in defence to both AD and Brooks, it wouldn't be too uncharacteristic for an underperforming club to produce underperforming players. With poor recruitment and retention decisions causing poor roster composition - and player development.
The last time we had anything close to a decent rebuild (culture and leadership wise), Brooks won Dally M halfback of the year. Our last junior players to reach great heights, were those from Sheens' previous era (succession plan).
IMO our current rebuild is probably the best I've seen and despite the club's history with Brooks or Sheens, the club are a lot more prepared and strategic than they've ever been.

We have to wait and see how everything clicks and no individual player would be responsible for it, if the outcome was unsuccessful.
Feel Koroisau's and Klemmer's leadership will be pivotal to the form of both players and the team's success.

I your opinion, Again if Sheens and Marshall wanted to get rid of Brooks they would have, fact is they have not.
Brooks behind this pack of forwards and Sheens as coach will do very well
Yes I mean the Douhie who as yet is not signed for 2024 currently
Yes Brooks is not signed either for 2024 and may not be either, so again we will wait and see. Do think a restructured Brooks deal will happen and he will finish as a one club player
Sheens has stated that he wants Brooks to stay on but on a reduced deal, similar to another WTs' stalwart, Chris Lawrence. I guess this means Sheens is not a supporter of WTs.😂

I don’t think we’ve seen the cap in such great shape? The increase of $1m plus is also a very timely fillip.

Other than a few tidbits from those on here that almost certainly know more than me on Adam, I have no idea what he and the club are thinking for the coming season, let alone the potential re-signing for the following one/s.

Either way, if he is at the club, we need commitment from both sides to get the best performance in whichever position that may be. Doueihi has developed as a goalkicker and has a great floating bomb when used sporadically, which we also need without an alternative.

Don't see him in the halves long term, whether at WT or elsewhere, but seems to be a primary option with the lack of candidates at this point for 2023.

Ah yes. Here comes Sheens personal bootlicker, little paws, to spam the same articles over and over because he’s incapable of posting an opinion that doesn’t elicit laughter or eye rolls from people who don’t worship at the alter of Sheens.

Here’s a newsflash, paws; spamming articles, followed by deflection and running doesn’t make you look informed or intelligent. It makes you look like a blind sheep but then again, that’s no surprise to anyone on here who has had the misfortune of reading your dribble.

Run along now. I’m sure Sheens has a pair of shoes that require your attention.

Sheens and Marshall can't be putting too much faith in a past Dally M award or they wouldn't be trying to spend over mill to get another player to play 7.
Ever heard of a strategy of keeping your good players and surrounding them with equally good or better players to improve the squad? Obviously not. Now where is Hastings😂

Shoutout to @WesternSuburbsBoy on the stats. It's good to see.
Whilst they are useful for framing an argument, i wouldnt read to much into any individual stat. They are very subjective and different media organisations give very different measurements of the same stat. E.g. FoxSports had Brooks 23 try assists in 2021 and Doueihi 16.
Also that metric is what has happened on typically one play in an 80minute performance. There is 79 other minutes of game time to worry about and many other subtleties of performance that aren't recorded in publicly available statistics. For example, i find Brooks is one of the better halves in the league at getting his lead runners one on one with an opposition defender. But there is nowhere i could look this up to confirm this.
There is really no way to measure best. It will always be observation and opinion.
