Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

That's why I posted last week tiger's not to sign nathan brown, if I were a junior and your opportunity was blocked by new 30 year old signings for another few years I would sign straight away with another club
Ur kidding for the last ten years what have we produced in the way of class forwards , NOTHING, because we have had shit forwards , NOW we have some class pigs who the kids can learn off and ur crying , they will leave , there bloody 18, 19 , and 20 year old kids , there not going to walk into any other team . I guess u would be happy if we kept all the forwards we let go , so the kids could be slotted in and get bashed . For years we have had bugger all up front and now we have a pack that won’t get pushed around and ur WHINING 🥴

Because it took us 5 years make the semis afterwards

Tell me another club who won a premiership and then took 5 years to make the finals after that

Winning a premiership Was the worst thing we could do

Losing v the Stains would have said " we did great in 2005 but we need to take the next step in the future

People need to look at the big picture ...not be concerned about one great years and then 15 years of utter failure
You should stay away from those funny cigarettes.

Sheens said the other day that there would be no more forwards signed. Backs will now be his priority

Rothfield stated that there were problems between Sheens, Benji and Robbie. Fake news?

No worries 3 finals series in 23 seasons ....talk about a successful franchise ...you saying we couldn't possibly have done things far better ......winning a premiership covered up yawning problems we have across the entire orgainzation ...which have been massively exposed in 16 of the next 18 seasons

I give away that premiership in an instant if it meant we had been far more successful in the coming seasons

But unlike a few ...I look forwards ..not get excited about the past .....stick to the 60/70 Col

The forwards look good, and with Api , Klem , and Paps, the rookies should gain invaluable experience working with the best . All money now, must be aimed at the backline, and the acquisisition of strike players in my opinion.
A quality half will create options for any outside back as long as his outside men hits the holes that having players inside (IP and JB) will open up

Even blokes like Morgan Harper looks OK having DCE inside and then having good backrowers that put the defence in 2 minds

You'd hope that Benji can teach the runners where holes will appear if a quality half carries the ball in 2 hands and is prepared to take the line on

Possibly not, it’s happened before. But this time Tim has his conflict resolution skills further enhanced by that experience, so he should see out his 2 years imo.

Seems to easy (with the unexpected 05 success) to overlook that he made the finals like 3-4 times between 1994 and 2012.
From my loose observations, he didn’t go real well in the (inferior) UK comp either…

Has nothing to do with his age at all…

Brad Arthur’s record over the last 6 years likely eclipses Sheens record over the last 30 - and he’s hardly considered a master coach.

I’m on the fence with it, it may work - it may not… one thing I can give Sheens credit for was that he could steer this club (politically) and he could bring the kids through….
The rest is clearly in his numbers.
I do not recall Brad's winning percentage in the last 6 years or infact ever but I do remember Tim's premierships and I do not remember who made the top four in the last 6 season's but I still remember Tim's premierships

Agreed. Coaches need to look at the big picture and stop trying to win premierships 😳

With Paps, and Bateman, attacking on the edges, this should create plenty of opportunities, for the halves and fullback. But the side will need time to gel, we have four new forwards, maybe a new fullback, and maybe a new half combination. Plus four new coaches, it will take time.
I expect a few shocks, to most peoples expectations, and more then 2 or 3 major changes to the 2024 roster.

Took Sheensy 3 seasons and generational talent to formulate it….
And the rest of the comp 1 off season to counter it.
Then Sheens and co 5 seasons to then catch up…

I’d be a lot more frightful if we hadn’t just come last…
can only be hopeful it works a second time around I guess?
Don't think it was the other teams who countered it as much as the rule changes in 06 to slow the play the ball and our horror run with injuries.
