Your fan 'crazy eyes' who just started
his account is mocking a woman,
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
I can't take you guys seriously

I've been avoiding this thread for
as long as possible, my mentions
blew up when I said what I said.
He wasn't found 'not guilty' you
knuckle dragging monkey, the case
got thrown out because of the
juror. And that's why she got paid
in a civil suit get out of here Glen

Ok, so you havent read my posts then. Point to where I said he was found not guilty or where I implied he was not guilty. As you read, you will probably see that I actually said the case was ended because of juror misconduct.
She didnt get paid a cent in a "civil suit" the Commonwealth settled with her out of court with no mediation.

Facts are not your strong point are they, you are better suited to name calling.

My point in all my posts has nothing to do with his guilt or the assault, it is all about the fact that the federal government (both sides) have circumvented the legal system and trampled all over judicial standards. You dont have an opinion on that other than to call other people names and make up an argument that no one is having?

"Strong men protect their women"? So please explain to me how by circumventing the legal system and preventing an opportunity for a retrial that this protects other women from this alleged rapist? Sounds pussy weak to me.

You seem to be having a discussion on your own, making up an argument that no one else is having. No one is making the argument that she wasnt assaulted.

Your whole premise is grubby.
Marise Payne's office covered
it up since the beginning.

Your whole premise is grubby.

No, what you assume is my premise is grubby. You are literally imagining my premise.

My premise is that both sides of federal parliament have circumvented the judicial system. In doing so they have contributed to the DPP blocking a retrial. By taking things into their own hands they have prevented justice being done. By all accounts by doing so they have not protected Brittany Higgins, nor have they protected other women from this alleged rapist. They have also prevented the alleged rapist from having his day in court.

You have no problem with any of this?

Marise Payne's office covered
it up since the beginning.

Quite possibly. How is this relevant to the point?

So as a women Im not allowed to talk or mock about other women yet it seems fine for you to as you have just done it and also mis-gender me. Please mansplain some more to me.

I actually think we need more hatred and disagreement in politics, as anger energises and you need energy to get things done.

Sort of like how if you don't eat you don't poo and if you don't poo you die.

The police prosecutor came out
and said the case was tainted,
he alleged that the courts were
aligned with the defendant.
Marise Payne's husband was
on record at the trial, taking notes
for her. You're victim blaming &
calling me a virtue signaller

Men like this wouldn't last a day,
they're cowards. They're the victims
only in their own little heads

Kaito, if you are serious about having discussion about topics like this (I'm not convinced you are) then you really have to get some form of grasp on the actual facts.

There is no such thing as a "police prosecutor", there is a Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) who has nothing to do with the police (which is the whole point). The police (AFP) report to the DPP recommended that the case not go to trial due to insufficient evidence. The DPP alleges the police (not the courts) were aligned with the defendant. Makes a pretty significant difference no?

Marise Payne's husband was

Yep. Which part of my imaginary argument does this relate to? I havent mentioned Marie Payne or anyone other than Scott morrison & Albanese.

FWIW I think the government should have investigated the whole affair including any cover up by Marise Payne however Albanese prevented this when he made the payout to Higgins in that instead of calling Marise Payne and Cash and staff in for mediation with representation, he prevented it and blocked funding for the representation effectively ending any opportunity for an internal investigation...........WHICH IS MY WHOLE POINT THAT BOTH SIDES OF PARLIAMENT HAVE CIRCUMVENTED JUDICIAL PROCESS.

You're victim blaming &

Mate, you should actually read my posts. I havent blamed anyone other than parliament. I literally just said in the previous post that by circumventing the judicial process, they have harmed Brittany Higgins and other women.
calling me a virtue signaller

Because you are virtue signalling on your quixotic crusade against an argument that doesnt exist. You saw the words Brittany Higgins and straight away assumed that someone was implying she is lying and this damsel in distress needs rescuing. No one (especially me) has made this case. I am discussing the parliaments (and media...but its not a media thread) totally irresponsible actions.

A couple of points:-

1. Politics is a very very sensitive topic. I don't think it should be.
2. The right wing conspiracy theorists have a habit (not all of them) of being uneducated and tribal in their responses. I feel you've been triggered and are doing the same thing in relation to this topic. I think we should be able to discuss issues calmly and factually without extremist opinions.

Onto the Higgins discussion. I never thought he could be found guilty because there was no evidence other than her word. The police apparently didn't want to prosecute which makes the case reek even more.

This came across as a completely politically driven event which to me is disgusting. Using a woman being raped as a political game or even worse a woman who was not raped as a political case to prosecute men is even worse.

I posted an article from the herald a while back and he stated many of the things @Tiger5150 stated.

Did you realize that all rape victims have the right to anonymity ? Why was this policy not followed in this case ? Why did the media including Peter Fitzsimmons and his wife trumpet Higgins as some sort of freedom fighter ? This is the same play book that the extremist right wing followers use as well. It's as if the facts don't matter but they do. Why did Scott Morrison speak out under parliamentary privilege ? Why did the public prosecutor come out and promote what a good person Higgins was ?

I have serious issues with the way this case was managed. It reeks of a political game and the people involved to me should cop it but instead it appears Higgins gets rewarded.

Great well thought out post, Earl

The DPP my bad

They also have the right to have their name released which I believe was one of the achievements of previous Australian of the Year Grace Tame. (im unsure of how this relates in the ACT under federal acts)

In his letter to the AFP on 01/11/2022 the DPP stated..."“I am of the view that at the conclusion of the trial, there should be a public enquiry into both political and police conduct in this matter,”
