Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Yea ah Nah.

Parramatta got the best players Available.
Moses
Gutho
Matterson

Heck they almost got a Premiereship.

But see the problem with the above. Money hungry GRUBS!

Good players, but good players alone do not make a team!
I'm not really sure what you're getting at here.

Moses would make our team better. Nothing else matters.

Comments like this are why opposing fans say we enjoy mediocrity. "Glad we didn't get the best players on the market, they would cost too much money".

That is not a consolation prize. The best teams with the best players win football games.

We have the following players who can play centre;-
Naden- a first class centre.
Kepoa;- has plenty of upside, is young and learning.
Feledy ;- shows great promise.
Talau ;- exciting and talented.
TT ; not sure if the forwards are his future, but impressive at training.
AD ;- has played centre with some ability.
Reilly ;- not much known about, but signed for a reason.
To'a ;- exciting and talented.
Bula ;- great wraps on ths kid, not in top 30, but can play 1,2,3, and 4.

Yet people are screaming to buy $700,000 players who may be no better.
Naden, is a very good centre, and we only need one of the above to have a pair, i like our chances.
Why?
Because Naden so far has been on the wing. IMHO if he wants to stay there and make Nofo or Ken M compete for that spot full support to him.

Feledy, Reilly, Bula should get a chance. Excited about Feledy.

Kepoa i would like to see more of.

Talau, Toa, AD have all haD their chance. All failed to defend.
Naden for instance was a weaker defender in the Dogs lineup. He is our strongest.

The pack looks good. The outside backs aren't great but we need quality spine players first especially on those dollars.
I actually think the opposite.

Spine players = structured attack.

Strong Center/wings means we can defend our edge , work out defensive combinations and force the attack to the Center where Bateman/paps/Klemmer are.

Sheens/Benji will get the team scoring. Defense is the harder question.

Come on down Ethan Sanders

Ethan Sanders – Halfback

The hype around Ethan Sanders right now is only just starting to build and for the Parramatta Eels that is a very, very good thing. The young playmaker entered 2022 in his junior year of SG Ball eligibility (i.e. turning 18 in an U19s competition) and would quickly go on to become a core figure in the Jersey Flegg team. The significance of that feat should not be undersold – Sanders wasn’t just holding his own against young men up to 3 years older than him, he was often excelling.

Long time readers will know that even in all my usual excitement and optimism when it comes to young talent I always preach that talent evaluation (especially as a club outsider) is an imprecise science. There are so many variables on and off the field that can wildly impact the course of a prospects outlook. That is doubly true for young halfbacks and five-eighths where the burden of crushing expectations and positional volatility often collide in spectacularly nasty fashion.

I throw that cautionary reminder out once again because in Sanders I see a very complete playmaker. Even given his youthfulness he has shown he can excel in all three phases of offence. Be it running, passing or kicking he shown a proficiency comfortably beyond his years and he was desperately unlucky not be picked for the NSW U19s this year. Even in defence, typically the bane of a star young half, he has shown a level of application that bodes extremely well.

I have Sanders pencilled in as the presumptive heir to Mitchell Moses and I expect his star to rise in meteoric fashion sooner rather than later. Right now, I think the focus will be for him to dominate the Jersey Flegg in 2023 and force his way into the NSW Cup program where he will begin his advanced applied studies in playmaking.3326BB78-C8FB-4F59-A650-FB18D8E34C89.jpeg

But Naden can play centre and adds strike,Toa and Tupou are young and with a better coaching side, will improve, Stains if not succesfull at fullback will be on one wing , or even centre. I made an error and said Talau, when i meant Tupou. But they are all young ,and thrown in the deep end, in a poor side. Toa and Tupou with the right coaching, and better side may surprise.

Douehi looked faster in that moussad clip today

He is fast bro.. for sure. Deceptive
and strong. He'll be great for us.
Glad Peter Moussa is back with
the old gang too. Head of high
performance, already has a good
rapport with the old boys, liked the
clip. They will be honest with each
other on who's fit and who isn't and
not push the boys like Madge did
when they weren't 100. Like the
way he spoke about prehab too
and load management as well
