Luke Brooks #167

Hastings is goooone

Why are you happy about that? A player that seemed to care about the team and put in. Brooks will never be your friend. He’ll never invite you over for a bbq. Pull down his poster and start supporting what’s best for the team and drop the sad, borderline pathetic fascination you guys have for a player that is 100% bad for the team.

We have Klemmer that is why and we are still in the mix for Moses. On top of our current new recruits that is a good outcome for our club.

Apologies, but I couldn't take it any other way, and ask that you go back and read your post.

The post was written in the context of a discussion on bullying, so it could help me and others if you don't/didn't talk of mothers protection of their children, along with use of a phrase that is synonymous with bullying, terrorising, abusing, etcetera.

As the term "picking on" has no good connotation that I am aware of, I suggest using "taking the piss" or a similar expression next time.
No need to apologies, it was pretty clear that the poster took pride in being part of a group that ganged up on another kid.
For any kids thinking this is cool, it is not.

Jesus. No one’s ganging up you simps. We are all here to support a footy club. We enjoy watching that club win. This thread is about a player that does not align with what we enjoy (winning). What’s so hard for the white knights to understand about that?

Absolutely top shelf recruiting. Big ones secured before Sheens though right? Try and be honest when you’re presenting a point.
Really?

Sheens was appointed Football Manager effective immediately on 5 June 2021.

Lol. Why all the drama of ipap not coming when Madge was punted? Like I said, at least try to be honest. Madge identified and got the deals done. Sheens has got Klem, who was on the outer at the knights anyways for Hastings. Let’s see how that plays out.

Sheens was consistent all the way through on Papali'i'. He was correct. He was/is the Football Manager - the boss.

Stop with the insults. It is unnecessary and we are supposedly supporting the one team.

you are purely speculating on sheens input. What we do know is Madge was head coach and got two world class players. Did sheens have a big part to play? Dunno, neither do you. Fact is Madge was at the helm and got it done. All sheens has done lately is derail 2022. Again, facts. First spoon.

insults? If questioning your information and how legitimate it is hurts your feelings you probably take your hand off the keyboard, shut it down and go find a safe place.

you are right mate I don't know him at all ...

So you highlighted my statement that said “picking” and then you changed that to “bullying”.
You can try and change what I was saying into some kind of poor form from primary schoolers if you want to but I will not be replying to it.
The kid we we’re picking on, coz his team was shite at the time, is still a close mate of mine and although I can barely remember what we were picking on him about, we all remember his crazy mum, whom I love dearly, for doing what she did. But kudos to you for making out like we were bullying some kid when we were not. Did you call the media? 😀

You can't be serious with that reply. Picking on a kid is bullying them, simple.

Sheens was appointed 5 Jun 21 as Football Manager which included amongst other matters, recruitment. I provided a link. That is not speculation.

There is a larger strategy at play with both recruitment and retention.

It is actions v words. We have witnessed an unprecedented clean out of the roster under Sheens. This included a tough decision to release Leilua to the Cowboys. and Nofoaluma and Gildart to play with other NRL clubs.

Our recruitment drive has been very successful and we are still in the mix for Moses. With Redcliffe entering the competition, our achievement is amplified.

In addition, we have identified and retained the best of our junior talent in both the Macarthur/Campbelltown and Inner West areas. I understand we regained some of our best juniors back from the Eels and Roosters.

This all-encompassing brief has been undertaken at a time when our books are good and the COE has opened.

The results are tangible. Sheens back in 2004 was known as the "recruiter". It's business as usual and I am glad he is back with Marshall, Farah, Furner, Heighington and all the coaching staff for the betterment of our club.

I am more concerned about Brooks ongoing fitness. With a history of hammy problems and now his calf ( again or still v late season 22) we are very vulnerable to his health.
I’m wondering if this what was referred to by the players a while ago, yet we were told it related to something else and no need for concern ?
With February just around the corner,I’m getting a bit jumpy about this scenario and I’ll feel a whole lot better when he’s fit and running again.
And as for Sheen's comments, he’s singing from the old Madge and Hastings songbook about protecting his half back from criticism. It’s all a bit tedious although I would suggest that his one on ones with Brooks are a lot more focused on what he has to do rather than what he’s done.
Brooks imho is paying the price for his form, or lack of it, not a 5 year old award, or his potential behind a new pack.
