Knew it was increasing, sure. But no one though it would increase by 30%. A much bigger increase than any in the past.
And if the cap rises that much then retired players aren't going to get their rehab covered. Players can't have it both ways

Sorry Spartan, i can't agree. Cronk is smart , and a good half'. Smith directed play, Munster the energy and attack, and Paps was brilliant. Its always been my argument,- it's the players around you that help you look good, Very few have those quality players to support them. Mitch is a very good half, and equal to Cronk , plus is faster, and kicks goals. No brainer to me.

Cronk is a media personality, and is brilliant, He also played in a great side, the best forwards, Cheese, Munster, Paps and the list goes ooonnn. I'm comparing horses to courses .
Yes he played for Easts with one arm, and that pushed him to heroe status, but seriously he did not do much. I love the guy, but the Storm were a powerhouse. The Eeel's not close.
Agree re 30% but they did think it would be a large increase. Some players had clauses put in based off the % increase rather than a number as it was viewed more a sure thing it was going to be a decent hike. Lets hope if Mitch does come his contract doesn’t include those types of clauses.

Milford has played in a grand final and lead teams into the finals. Yes he has issues and he is clearly no DCE/Cleary/Townsend/Hugues/etc.
Still, with Milford he has realised something in his career. Wayne Bennett will get the most out of him, as he does with many players.
I honestly thought the criticism would be around the JMK hooker or Sean O'Sullivan who is fairly unproven. Not saying it's a great spine, but it's one that can get the job done behind their pack.
I suspect Wayne is looking at the whole Moses drama and will make an offer to AD. (not a good one, but a fair one.).
I'd wouldnt play Milford in a reserve grade side from the bush. Never seen a player who tries to chase penalties all the time. Never does any hard work.

Mate listen to Cronk talk about the sport. He sounds like a 10+ year coach. He understands the game inside and out. The guys you named were/are good because of him and his absolute ability to deconstruct an opposition at training and implement a game plan to expose them during play. He constantly knew what to do when a game was playing out a certain way.
In contrast, Moses sounds like a park footballer when he describes how a game went.
As for his successes, Cronk won a GF playing badly busted and was able to orchestrate the win like a conductor on the field against the side he knew better than anyone. The guy was more than a player.
