Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The club is very confident that Moses will be putting pen to paper at this Thursdays meeting.
A 4 year deal worth close to $1.4mill per season (can't confirm but a 5 year may be a mutual option).
All "requirements" per his managements discussions have been met & our offer is better than the Eels.

Since Farnworth has informed other clubs of his intent to stay at Broncos the club has changed focus to Dominic Young, very early talk just gauging his price point.

Daine Laurie is looking likely to take up the current 1 year extension being offered, he wants 2 years or more but club not budging on this.

Talk of Seyfarth looking to move on is true, club happy to keep him for 2023 season but won't stand in his way of long term offer if it comes forward.

Laurie will be fullback round 1, Staines too quiet for Sheens liking & "needs to find his voice" to be any chance of taking the 1 off Laurie, Bula is nipping at their heels but a roster spot would need to be freed for him to play prior to round 10.

Club has also held talk with Fletcher Baker from the Roosters.
Thanks for the info pom, if Moses does come along do you think there is any chance Doueihi stays? Could a manu role work for him?

At least we now have a date. This Thursday. Hopefully the saga will be over. You don’t come into a face to face meeting to knock back a contract. Munster didn’t even ring Bennett to let him know he wasn’t coming. Buckle up boys, he’s coming home.

If that 1.4m is all cap, that's nuts. I mean he is better than what we have in the halves and he'll probably carry us to the eight but for that money plus TPA's on top you'd want a Cooper Cronk or Nathan Cleary.
It may have been nuts ten years ago, but the market and cap have changed, albeit at the slowest rate ever.
Regardless, we were going to have to offer a sizeable deal anyway which would impact our cap.
But this offer is more than just about Moses wages. Whether you love Moses or not, getting his signature is significant; it shows real intent, gives some belief back to the fans, puts us back on the competition map, helps future recruitment and lays proper foundations for a sustainable rebuild.
For that alone it is worth it.

Agree, but why have a face to face & written contract in play this late.
Thank for posting also if Alex went to another club would Bula be first choice for top 30 or would they look to replace with a forward?

Oh look, if we do manage to get him, he will easily be the best half at the club by a decent margin. And I do agree that bagging Moses along with the likes of Koroisau, Papali'i and Klemmer shows that the club can once again attract players that aren't bargain bin buys.

As you say it probably won't be a big amount of money coming to the end of his contract if he were to take it up.

Also, does that contract start in 2024, or would we be agitating for a 2023 release (I'd say there's a 0% chance Parramatta will let him go this season.)

Like this that we have held talks with baker he looks the goods from what I have seen, can never have enough backrowers

Yep he'd be 1st in line for an upgrade at this point in time.
who else is on the list for potential development/top 30 upgrades? the club did it with Matamua and Pole last year but haven't seen anything similar this preseason.

also, do you know what positions the club is looking to strengthen?

Another question would it be for 23 or 24 stating year for Moses and is there a chance Parramatta would take AD this year in a swap for Moses ?

Will be glad when it's sorted one way or another. So many changes this year already before a ball has been thrown. Brooks/ Douehi need to be given an opportunity to show what they can do first and foremost.
