Have to wonder if he was asked the question and the journo has run with it or if he has put himself forward. If it is the latter he isn't a real leader. If he was asked and has spoken openly about it I sort of get it but ....

the great leaders I have known personally aren't full of themselves and telling their own story. Great leaders are are humble and are great leaders by their actions; sometimes by their words sure but that is about the courage to speak out - not the temerity to talk about how good your leadership skills are.

I am not part of the playing group so maybe he is right, but my observations of his on field performances certainly make me think otherwise.

Happy to be proven wrong but I think there are better and more obvious choices to captain our team.

I want the captain to lead from the front, bring the team together when it’s tough & motivate them out of trouble.

If AD gets the nod he better be extended before the season starts so he can focus 100% on the team. No way he should be captain if he isn’t. Being captain and also self managing there own next contract isn’t a great mix.

Api would be my choice. He's got a contract with WT's for the next couple of years.

I don't really follow this line of thinking. I think he is one if not the most overrated player on this forum and even within the club.

I've been guilty of overrating him as well.

I want to see consistent high quality performances from him this season.

in the group. All have our opinions,
let's see how the first 6 rounds or so
play out. It will be vital for this team
to come out the gates strong for sure
