I really dont care one f$#@$ing bit what everybody says about the Warriors trial, the kids need a taste of NRL and they got it...what matters is that the OLD BOYS CLUB who everyone thinks is our saviour have to coach a top 17 side to be winners...our record shows that this club is a pensioners paradise ,,,the sooner we become a professional NRL competative side then the sooner we have more confidence in our complete club from admin to coaching to put wins on the board,,,until that happens we may as well have Cleary,JT, Potter and Madge back because until Bunji,Backstabber Farah and Sue the club Sheens produce wins and finals appearances, then nothing changes...
RESULTS MATTER and they have to be positive winning results, everything else is just hype and hysteria...which suits people like paws and claws etc,you know the ones who keep spruiking the new COACHING club will deliver, but dont give credit to Madge for getting the pathways sorted so we can develop Feledy,Matua,etc..and hopefully keep them...
anyway cant wait for the season to start to see how far we have progressed,Sheens has a good cap,Api,Papi as starters for good recruitment as well as the other greats we will rely on to escalate us to the 8 this year...

Sheens has overhauled our pack this off-season and we've witnessed a change of the roster that hasn't previously been achieved.

We are still in the hunt for a new half in Moses.
No doubt an overhaul of the backs will occur but the forwards are a good start.

From reports, Sheens has invested a lot of time with the juniors and speaking with parents of players to retain them with WTs. We are now seeing the fruits of the investment in the performances of our junior sides, especially in the Macarthur/Campbelltown regions.

Our engagement with the Macarthur/Campbelltown region is the best it has ever been.

Sheens and Marshall will no doubt work closely with the slightly older players and even now with Bula, Hill and Tumeth, Faagutu and Feledy there is plenty to be pleased about.

While you want to regurgitate the boys club diatribe and go over the Maguire years, I prefer to look at the future. It's time for you to pull up your pants and move on.

Agreed. I’ve never been blown away by his speed. He’s not a guy that gets the ball in the clear and it’s shut the gates. Did someone say Robert Jennings MKII?
From the posts by members at training, he is very fast. From what part of the game did you and west bird, judge his speed, or is it more death riding some players, so their favorites look more appealing. Most posts rated him in the top 4 players for the side.

Death riding him I won’t lie. He has a weird head. I’ll allow it if he is quick otherwise I would can him based on his performance. Again, his head doesn’t help.

Just saw the game. The scoreline isn't as important as the structures and gameplan.

Good to see that we're sticking to having absolutely nothing in that regard.

I did see a kick for touch by Wakeham that actually gained more than 4m.

The tragedy is that they looked exactly like a Wests Tigers NRL team.
didnt he get a 40 20?

The biggest problem to solve is the halves and fullback, We need a backup half, and a capable fullback, The next trial i would like to see Stains play one half at fullback, and one half on the wing.
And Laurie one half in the halves, and one half at fullback. Win or lose , we need to sort this out before the real games begin. That is what trials are for.

Guess most teams are then as well…..

Most teams haven’t played close to their 1st grade team. Most teams have been at best a mix of junior, cup & trial players with max maybe 1-2 top 17 players (most of those being injured for chunk of last season).

The Knights were really the only exception so far who named a strong team for them and got beat by a reggies team.

Expect to see the sides listed next round for most clubs be more NRL focused than this round.
Yep... For the first 40 at least

we already seen stain at full back. try him on wing next. put a new kid at fullback

Anyone else at the moment is too raw, and will need time. Laurie was raw last year in a bad side, and Stains has not had a chance to show what he can do. Both are still young, and to judge them at this stage, without game time in a different side is ridiculous.

The way we approached the pre-season challenge, makes me think we need 3 games to get ready. I think Sheens’ focus in game 1 was to grow the leadership potential in a few players, Utoikaman and Pole in particular.
I wonder if Pascoe had not sent the game to NZ, would Sheens’ approach have been the same?
I still think we wasted a great opportunity to iron out any shortcomings. We knew for example, Staines needed to find his voice. It’s still lost or Scolari is hard of hearing?
Our defence line was staggered and slow at times.
Anyhow, at least our coaches now have something to work with, especially our defence coaches. 9 tries pft

Have a look at the bulldogs team for tonight's trial to see the difference in the coaches thinking.Their team is pretty close to a fg team and they still managed to blood afew new players.I bet they don't get flogged like we did

Do you think our previous link with Webster has anything to do with this, building ties for the future....yeh I'm thinking outside the box and could be a siily statement.

Did everyone not see how rubbish Seyfarth was last night? Same old bean pole getting smashed and making a couple of metres per hitup. I don't care if he made 20 hitups, if they're not quality hitups then he's wasting everyone's time. Fainu was better.
The only reason he looked busy was because we had no experienced forwards out there, he was our oldest member of the pack! Once Klemmer, Joffa, Twal are back they all do what he does, only better. The only room there would be in our top 17 for him is if Klem, Joffa and Twally all get injured at the same time.
If he gets any offers from A-based NRL clubs he needs to take it
He's 3 times as good as Twal.
