Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The rumour is that when he was in Amsterdam, he did some mushrooms which have really messed up his brain. Apparently during a Roosters meeting with the players when they were saying what the club means to them, he was drawing planets and weird stuff and wasn’t 100% mentally and physically. Slurring his words and just didn’t look like he was there if you know what I mean. Whether that’s true or not I don’t know but in the message that went around they reckon there is a very strong chance he will never play again. The shrooms have really messed up his brain if legit. I feel bad for the guy but if legit I don’t think Roosters shouldn’t get the cap relief it didn’t happen as a result of him playing it happened off the field. If the NRL grants it soon every club will claim similar stuff to get cap relief as well.
Not in a million years would shrooms do that, I remember the drug talks they did at school like my friend did shrooms and now he thinks he’s a can of tomato’s 😂 guy would’ve had underlying mental health problems that exacerbated it because he wasn’t medicated for it and it probably started freaking out that he felt disconnected which often happens no matter if you have mental health problems or not, it’s just worse if you do, especially if you have untreated bipolar, poor guy though it is a horrible feeling disassociated

Wow, that is sad if true...also he is old enough to know better than to dabble in that sh*t.
Given it happened in Amsterdam good chance they are stronger than usual too. I do feel bad for him but they shouldn’t get cap relief even if the shrooms aren’t true.

Watched NRL 360. and saw the panel mentioning Easts 3.6 mil over the salary cap,wit third party deals.
Anasta as a player manager,ex player and with close ties to Nick looked extremely uncomfortable.
The whole purpose of the salary cap, was to keep the competition fair. That ultra rich clubs, can get away with this, is a blot on the game. I want the players to earn as much as they can, but the NRL must ensure a fair playing field.
That was their guess of values.

Lol too. Agreed. The cap agreement and third party payments are $ that are disclosed. It’s what’s not disclosed that is the problem. Players and their managers are not dumb. Winning a comp is also great. But one guarantee is that players are getting what they are worth, every cent disclosed or undisclosed. Short career and no way will they be taking less. It’s all bollocks because the majority will believe. The truth is another matter….that’s how money works. It’s Ben like that from the day it was invented. We just need to learn to play the game! You also need balls to do so!

You really believe that shit?

You reckon he went past all the Roosters training gear in his closet
(That he's been wearing every day for the last 4 years)

To find a Souths kit - that he hasn't used for 4 years.
Assuming of course, That he actually kept it (Which most players don't)
Hahaha no I’m not saying I believe that bit just stating that’s what is being said

However - from a very close source I do know the topic and the situation itself is real idk the specifics nor do I want to know tbh

Very sad situation all around and hope he can find himself again

We were targeting him pretty heavily as well so kinda glad we avoided that

Why have a salary cap ? If you have third party deals, doesn't that make a mockery of the cap ?
It is obviously a big money earner, but the NRL has to do more to balance the payments. This is rorting, Melbourne got penalised for far less.
About time they publish the salaries with TPA's at least that way you know when a 15 million dollar team spanks a 11 million dollar team it's not a big deal

It's a bit like a middle of the road first grade team winning the reserve grade premiership who would care

Don't know if it's been mentioned, I was watching a recorded 360 from last night, Paul Crawley said the talk is the Tigers have hit up Warrington about George Williams, said the rumour is they want a huge transfer fee but the Tigers might be willing to negotiate. Depending what Moses does.

I use to see the Bundy Bear when I had a skinful.
I chased him down George Street once to Town Hall. Could never catch the bastard.

Raiders fans would really blow a gasket if that happened.

Funny thing is Anasta on 360 was saying guys take unders to go there because of the networking available for future work in the media or business. But I thought 1. Players wernt allowed to be signed for massive unders and 2. Any income generated outside the game as a result of a players contract is all included in the salary cap. So if player A signs for 300k under value because a board member promised them a career in the media after they retire it should all be included and details disclosed in the salary cap. Thats what Pasco got pinged for for Robbie, not disclosing the contract offer once he retired. Having the contract off site.
it is the investment and contacts after football e.g. gyngell and bouris, player retires they then get investment or financial advise through friendships etc, can't police that really

that is 100% correct .. he's brain is a little fried .. i think they call it cooked .. so i believe the NRL should not compensate the Rorters a single cent .. a bad result for Crichton for making a stupid choice .. !!
