I hate to say this...but we have multiple players who are mentally just not up to it. Multiple players with zero footy IQ.

Overlaps not seen, misreads, bad play options taken, schoolboy errors from senior players...

Not know how to build pressure...not see on the 3rd tackle what plays 5 and 6 will look like.

When you hear Cronk, Townsend and co...they "know" footy. They read games.

We have multiple players who simply can't. They just play what is in front of them, but they can't see the play ahead.

You all know who they are. The same spine players and outside backs...for a long time.

You just can't have a team where 3/4 of the key playmakers have no footy nous.

Nothing will change until they go.

Yes, should have said "get the overlaps right".

They have no idea how to do that.

The prob is he is 19 and we are going to have to wait, yet again.

What gets me is we have no option runners. So many times today Api darted out from dummy half and everyone was standing 15m behind the ruck watching him. We've got no one running lines, no one running decoys. We look like a pub footy team where 6 blokes have turned up who never train. They don't know each other, don't know the plays and everyone is just waiting for someone else to do something.

I don't know if you put that down to coaching, football IQ, lack or culture, no desire to win or all of the above.

It's hard to watch either way.

Honestly mate I was amazed at how good Brooks was. He just wasn't backed up with performances from other players especially Api. Laurie was okay.

I agree with you though that we have way too many guys who are inconsistent and guaranteed to make huge mistakes at critical times.

It is all of the above i am afraid to say.We have a decent but not good side but they are playing like a team of strangers

Brooks good?? He was terrible IMO.

Good based on broken field running you mean? He has always done that well, yes.

But he has no idea at all how to set up 6 plays starting in opp 20.

And that is his main job.

I thought Brooks was really good. Minimal mistakes and plenty of good plays. That is what we need.

I agree with your point on him setting up those players but I don't think that was on him today. He didn't get the opportunities but if the rest of the spine did their job they would have scored some points. He didn't stuff up either.

I think mistakes from Stef today were real real bad. I think Nofo offered nothing. AD was real bad as well. Api had some good moments but he had some poor touches. Laurie and Staines were okay.

I think you can add the coaching staff to the list of those with NFI

Brooks just needs more time. He is young and will learn the craft of being a first grade halfback as he matures.
