I would take Teig Wilton in a instance...EELS STAR COULD BE SQUEEZED OUT - Waqa Blake
The Parramatta Eels face losing another grand final star with reports Waqa Blake could be squeezed out due to salary cap constraints.
Wide World of Sports reports a new deal for Mitchell Moses, who has been offered four years at $1.1 million a season, would mean little room to re-sign Blake. It comes after the Eels also locked down half Dylan Brown on a bumper deal.
The Fijian-born flyer is off-contract at the end of the season and according to WWOS, “rival clubs are circling”.
Blake would join Isaiah Papali’i, Reed Mahoney, Marata Niukore as grand finalists to have left the club since the defeat to the Panthers.
SHARKS BACKROWER’S BIG CALL - Teig Wilton
Cronulla enforcer Teig Wilton is reportedly hot property, with at least six clubs lining up to sign the backrower.
Wilton’s contract ends after the 2023 season and is free to negotiate with rivals for the 2024 season and beyond.
According to WWOS, the Sharks have begun talks to extend his stay in the Shire but Wilton will likely hold off on signing a new deal as his value rises with regular starting minutes.
The Rabbitohs are reportedly keen on his services and assistant coach John Morris is shaping as a key figure in Wilton’s potential recruitment.
Morris is Wilton’s uncle and the Redfern-based club reportedly believe he’s the perfect man to partner experienced five-eight Cody Walker on the left edge.
Meanwhile, the reigning premiers the Panthers are said to be one of the other clubs interested in his signature.
Should we have a crack at either of them .. ?? for me it's a no .. !!
Waqa however needs to go to ESL
