Similar misgivings with Nofo retaining his place.

If the halves can fire and get the link between forwards (who are doing their job) and the backs who havent been generally able to placed in a position / opportunity where they can attack and hopefully score, we can win this one with a bit more composure and less dropped ball. I like Staines at fullback over Laurie. We can win this one.

100% agree.
I'd even go so far as playing wakeham 7, Laurie 6, brooks 14 and AD in the centres.
We need a catalyst otherwise we'll be plodding along all year. Most teams have that one player who can turn a game, we don't, so it needs to be a unified effort. Api, Klem, Offa and Bateman need to drag these nuffies around and tell em what to do

Well, the saying by quite a few successful head coaches both recent and earlier on, is that get your spine right and the rest will gell is true. And WT still have not got their spine right (for years). Hooker (tick) but big questions over half, five eighth and fullback. I'd like to see Api (9), Wakeham (7), Brooks (6) and Staines (1) for a few weeks and see how that goes. Doueihi can shift to centre and Laurie wing to get rid of Nofo.

We can be as positive as we like…it’s the players who have to be positive. A bit of old fashioned face slapping might work. Get Blocker into the sheds to fire them up.

I’m not keen on picking halfbacks on the bench, get em ready for first grade and start them. Otherwise you got two 7’s trying to do their thing and it’s no good for the team.
If Wakeham can do a job then it’s a fight out between Brooks and Douehi for 6, but I’d be leaning toward Douehi for centre.
I am surprised it is Wakeham and not Smith getting the nod, I thought we got Smith as the backup 7. Not that I knew who Wakeham was before he signed with us.
Anyway with the good yardage we’ve been getting we just need someone who can attack inside the 20m zone and we should at least score more tries.

I think today's game is a perfect test for him... Dogs are a little better than us I spose so it's not like throwing him in the deep end against Penrith Roosters or the like... I hope he gets a fair go not a pissy 10 mins when it's all over and we're behind by 24.
 
Wakeham seems to have been going pretty well in Reggies and I think he's a decent goal kicker as well. I see Sheens has him on the bench for today's game. Hope the boys can pick up a win.
 
Fitler has the scoop, apparently he is keen to see how Wakeham goes partnered with Douiehi.

Also earlier Dave Ricio was giving it to Luke Brooks. Says if we have a poor start he will be the first to go. The coaching staff / future plan won’t change.
 
My plan would be run at Kikau to tire him out. Take his attack away and they will struggle in this heat.
 
According to nswrl website Rua will play in NSW Cup, leaving Matamua as the likely 18th man. For the Dogs, Topine is in NSW Cup, leaving Josh Reynolds as a possibility to play.
 
Today I just want to see some basics improved. Some attacking formations. Players in position. Don't keep passing it to Twal in attack. Perhaps the worst forward in the comp when it comes to attack. It reminds me of when we used to keep passing to Huth or other guys that don't score or pass or threaten the defence. And yeah some forward running hard and at least having an option for people to pass to. Just basics

We will get a touch up today in this heat. It will be like a game of touch due to the conditions and our back line has little speed or skill to play the razzle dazzle stuff. Expect a hatrick from the fox. Be highly surprised if we get within 25 points of them.
