Onya Bateman!

Bateman could be the one to turn this miserable club around. He hates losing and does not suffer fools.

Gareth Ellis' arrival transformed us from a team with the talent to play finals every year but a soft underbelly into a premiership threat. Let's hope Bateman has the same effect, albeit our current squad is weaker than 2011/12.

Good game from Bateman. A professional's game and to think many on the forum were doubting his quality. I'm glad we have him aboard to teach our younger forwards.
There is nothing I would trust our club to do without questioning them, why have a crack at supporters after over 10 years of ineptitude?

I just watched a bit more and was very happy with him, as you would want to be with a small forward at his age on 4 years on big coin. Let's not have a party and throw mud on supporters because 1 person in the joint actually did the job of an NRL player for 1 game.

I know you cop alot of crap that is personal, and I think that's wrong, but this post feels like you sit back and wait to find something to hammer people about instead of actually being constructive about what this terrible organisation needs to do to improve.

Bateman is a strong no nonsense player very strong and mobile with decent skill level. We have some players on the edge Blore, Bateman, Papalli. Our forward pack is way improved. Unfortunately our halves, fullback and some backs are not.

Definitely a tough little bugger.

Once they get a real organiser in the halves, we will be good. I honestly think that if Hastings stayed and played lock for a few rounds he would have been over to halfback.

An actual hard nosed effort based footballer.
Stupidly hot day, first game in Australia in a few years and never stopped.
A bit of aggro and a lot of effort - hopefully some of the others who regularly make zero effort were watching.
Made a few of his teammates look really soft, first full speed game in grade in mid 30 degree heat. Need more like him.

On the plus side it only took 3 rounds to find out what's stifling our attack. We have the rest of the year to fine tune it now

If you take the performance of the forward pack alone we deserved to win all three of these games, most of these guys are busting their ass to get us into the red zone and are doing so successfully, which has been a key issue of ours for years. Unfortunately when one problem is addressed another arises and we haven't been able to capitalize off their hard work. If you look at stat sheets over the past few seasons I can't remember having this many players run 100m+ each game, we'd be lucky to get a couple a game

I had my doubts and still do but geez we saw the old style Bateman today. If we get that for the next few years mixed with Ice on the other side with Api & Klemmer in the middle we will win more than we lose provided we get the halves right. Good start from Bateman that’s for sure.

Loved that good hard tackle on Burton.
They all thought it must have been illegal but it was just a good hard tackle.
Hopefully some of this rubs off on his teammates
Great hit, what pissed me off was burton the dog lied down pointing to his head. Trying to milk the penalty, but should of been taken off for a hia check. Where was the independent doctor then????? Every game this year that incident would of been taken off to be accessed. Joke of a call, it’s what happened to Hastings the other day.
