POLL: Should the club fold and handover/sell the licence?

Wests ashfield buys out the balmain side just go by the magpies have balmain as NSW cup
They won’t bring back the Magpies in too many Sydney clubs man. If a Sydney club folds, they won’t bring in another. They’ll expand outside of Sydney and possibly NSW for any new teams.

How about Balmain Byron Bay Tigers?! 😋

I have been on this Bandwagon of relocation for a few years, and whilst it would be a dagger to the heart of Sydney based Wests Tigers supporters the Joint-venture has lost it's way. Everyone from Officials to Players and Coaching staff (since 2012) have been responsible for allowing this club to generate into a HORROR SHOW. I agree with the so called experts that we have too many teams in Sydney and a new start with a new culture and fans based in WA, could be just the tonic that all black, gold and white supporters require to regain their lost love of the club. Renamed WESTERN TIGERS and play 1 game each year at Leichhardt and 1 game at Campbelltown and they would also be able to watch them play live when opposing the Rabbits, Roosters, Bulldogs, Eels, Panthers, Dragons, Sharks, Sea Eagles at their home grounds. YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE!

Same owners?

Same owners?
The licence would be given to a consortium who put their hands up with a big fat bank balance and a nice track record of having successfully operated a sporting club. The new owners licence would be dependent on calling themselves Western Tigers and playing in a uniform that consists of Black, Gold & White. The WA team would have access to the current Wests Tigers Juniors in Campbelltown and Balmain but Wests Ashfield need to relinquish any involvement in the running of the Football club. They can operate the Wests Magpies in the NSW Cup and if successful then maybe jockey for a return to the NRL down the track as the Magpies. I just want to see the colours and the Tigers brand run onto the field each week and STAY AWAY Wests Ashfield and any old Balmain connections. PS: I am a former Wests Magpies supporter.

I'd play nothing at campbo or LO though. We need to burn the past.

I was never embarrassed to wear Wests Magpies gear like I am now with Wests Tigers - they have gone much lower than even the worst of the Wests and Balmain teams.

Agreed because as bad as they were at least they had a dig and played with more pride in the jumper than many of our current roster do.We do still have players who believe in themselves but not enough of them and having a coach who publically threw the club and team under a bus last year by tanking would definately not help.Neither Balmain or the Magpies would have accepted what Sheens did last year to the club

The people who are screwing the club are employees. I would be mortified to think that fans would allow them to be the reason why the club folded while they have been paid a healthy salary to fail.
Get rid of the people who have failed in their roles on behalf of the club - never the club.

Think it's bad now.......wait until Gould is done with squeezing WT out of the south west of Sydney. Then we will be inner city nomads with no juniors, but atleast we will have a COE and strong hat sales. Although I suspect even the hat sales will start declining soon.

The answer to the title of this thread is NO
we need to avoid this being done to us
I think the NRL want 18 team comp and that's with one less Sydney team and if we continue to be the clear stone cold last team who do you think they will have in their cross-hairs? We need Quantum leaps a major change !

Agree , NRL needs to step in and say this is the way you will run for the next 3 years
dismantle current board and replace with smart people and footy brain people .
new CEO
Sheens to step back to his roll as per original job or piss off
Benji , Robbie , Dave , Rest of season to prove , basic win more than you loose , if the rot continues
Brand New Coach / Des , Flanno are options
First grade remove , Nofa , Laurie , Wakeman ,
purchase , Fullback , Centre , Half of quality
Second Grade , remove 3 duds and replace with 3 from outside who are looking at a real crack in FG

Club's not gonna fold, the finances are OK and that's all that you need to hold your NRL licence.

I don't want the club to fold or be replaced and I can't understand the mentality of anyone who does. I don't care how bad they are in any season, still my club and I can't ever replace them.

And if there are any inevitable "oh so you accept mediocrity" comments, save your breath because that's nonsense, you can both support something and want for them to do better.

I personally feel that the only way forward now for this club to be successful is to relocate to Perth. The Wests/Tigers has been an abject failure bar three years, start afresh with no past club beefs and grudges. A fresh slate is the only way forward, both Balmain and Wests have too much bad blood and it is reflected in the piss poor performances of this club both on and off the field.
If Perth is not an option then just change the name and brand to something more appropriate like the Western Sydney Lions, that way it has no connection name wise to the other shit shows.

I'm starting to agree. The way forward is a football club called wests tigers located ( i would much prefer Central Coast to Perth ) and this club is freshly funded and has no association with Balmain or Western Suburbs . Would need to adopt new feeder clubs like Entrance Tigers and Wyong Roos
The original components can carry on with whatever teams they can fund in cup ,flegg and ball etc
Keep carrying on like we have been for another couple of years and we will be dead anyway!
