Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Cracks me up the warriors have 4 halves, the warriors FFS.
Cronulla have a few.
Souths have Hawkins and Taafe.
The bloody Titans even have Campbell behind Brimson at fullback. He is better than any of our fullbacks.

Every single club looks really good in patches this year, which means they have a spine...except us and possibly the Raiders. I've seen dog shit that is more entertaining than our attack.

There are enough spine players for an 18th team, but we have ZERO who are first grade standard.

Mate we do have players who are FG standard what we don't have is a FG standard coach who knows how to use their ability. At the moment we are stuck in this rut for another 5 years.I am too old for the crap i am being served up from the club,i will always support the club but the people in charge can all piss off as far as i am concerned.Sheens the CEO and the entire board are the problem

Almost certainly......eels can't afford a genuine x factor after their big resignings so DL is it.Good luck with that
Will probably agitate for an early release, but with the season only 20% over but players already paid 50%,it makes no sense to most..except maybe Sheens
Watch the Laurie/Blake swap happen...we pay for Laurie's 30% that we've already paid for him to be at the Eels, and pick up the difference in Blake's contract for essentially a Slimey's double dipping success....
Laurie goes, Blake comes in and I believe we'll be paying more to be marginally worse

The only 1st grade standard we have played this year was the first ten minutes against the Titans, where we had them on the ropes playing attacking footy but opted for the two points....sums it all up.

Diane Laurie is not a fullback
Nor is he a 7 or 6. Has shown no orgnizational skills, his defence is poor and his attitude worse. Sure the current 7 and 6 don't have these skills either but at least they've played in the positions before so on occasions may do something worthwhile..

I can't believe over the last 20 years WT have only developed two junior half backs of quality - Robert Lui and Mitchel Moses.

Is there issues developing quality half backs? Poor junior coaching, poor pathway systems, something is not right.

Lui was more of a 5/8th.

Moltzen was on his way to becoming a decent halfback though... we won like 8 out of 9 games with 6. Marshall and 7. Moltzen ... then Sheens decided Moltzen should be a 1 and ruined his career lol.

Te Maire Martin and Lachlan Ilias are a couple of others that come to mind.

The key point is the successful ones left our club. Something is definitely not right.

Wow, blaming Sheens for Moltzen.

Some club will get him and turn him into the next superstar, as we don’t know how to develop any players.
I agree, but it's best to cut him loose. Atm for where we're at we are in a huge need for a massive culture overhaul. Honestly his attitude sucks and it will finally make an example and set some standards about what is expected of the guys putting on a Tigers jersey. It's tough to let him go but in my eyes it's time the Tigers grew some teeth internally and start making the tough calls. Short term pain for long term gain. He might win a comp else where, but he can be added to the list of others who have left and kicked on, what's one more. But we can use the opportunity now to start going about setting the culture of accountability and commitment to the jersey right.

I think it's a terrible idea.

We don't need to give up a player to get a guy who is looking for an opportunity in the top grade.
I agree with this. This would play out terribly for us. If it was an option Tigers should throw a decent contract at the kid. Not Moses/Wighton money but just enough to entice him over.
If I was the Tigers and it was who we want, I'd do what the Warriors did....just make a phone call and plant the seed.
