Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

With all the hype around Suaalii, this kid could be forgotten. I think he’s better than Suaalii as he is much faster. Top 3 GPS nationals for the 100m.
Is an absolute beast - watched him come through the ranks and one the Tigers should try and sign:

We need to think outside the box

But real man managers would get to the bottom of that, with him and anyone else with baggage issues. I’m not sure that we do that very well.

I'm tired of this new age where a coach has to individually analyse every player and nurse him along appropriately. At what point do we draw the line in babying these grown men? Laurie had over 2 years being left in one position, that is more then enough nursing.

Laurie will play better in another team purely because every other team is better then ours and its easier to play well in a stronger team. It won't be because he wasn't "man managed" right.

It's time we as a society start putting some ownership on adults to be adults, and take responsibility for themselves.

There are some cases where this "man management" special treatment needs to come in, Laurie's is no such situation, not even close.

These players need to harden up.

Yeah, but some of the tackling there isn't even amateur rugby level. If he's any good Union will want to tie him up quickly for the internationals and they'll pay above inflation rates. Which means you'd have to pay way over the top. You can justify that kind of expenditure if he's got a solid body of work against teams with comparable levels of competitiveness and fitness. But if he's busting through half-hearted arm tackles on 40% of his attacking plays that's a problem.

True, 7s is different but I think he’s under contract with Waratahs too. He’s only 19…I watched him at Scots. He’s a country boy, played league in Kempsey till he was 16…was tough as nails. Reminds me of Ryan Cross.

Thank you! It's all attitude. For mine man management is handling egos that may not necessarily get along in a team and getting them to output at 100%. Catering to an individual players or several players individual egos is horseshit and reflective of shit individual attitudes.

Man management is getting Shane Warne, Steve Waugh and Adam Gilchrist to play together effectively despite the fact that Warnie wasn't mates with either of them. Not fluffing an average players ego. They all had the talent and attitude to match, they just needed to be able to handle each other's ego.

we must sign 7 first. any fullback will say you want me to play with brook? no way

If you want to win now - George Williams.
If you want to win over the next ten years and have a top 3 scrum half in the competition - Lewis Dodd. Was very concerned after he tore his Achilles midway through last season. But he was only 20 and consequently still had enough blood supply to the lower leg for it to heal rapidly. Just signed up an Australian/NRL agent. I mean - St. Helens would want BIG money. But he's worth it. He and Welsby are two of the best I've seen in forty years.

Runs like a young Lawrence. Also a little Jorgensen like

At the cattle dog trials at the Easter show, the bloke just whistles and the dog knows exactly what to do, putting 700kg cows through tiny gaps etc. The dog is smarter and fitter than Brooks, does exactly as he's told and matches him for pace. He also has a big ticker, unlike AD. Sign him now!

Just got home from eastershow applying for bankruptcy as we speak.

All good.

I actually think that would help though. I think you have to give some sort of indication where and how u heard it to help people decide for themselves the validity.
I don’t think it really matters. I’m just taking the piss mate. I’m never gonna bag ppl for sharing info on here. Any info is appreciated and gives a little bit of hope no matter how likely or unlikely it may in fact be.

I do share your belief though that I’d be surprised to see Trindall come however I am hopeful and I’m still wondering if the club had a particular player in mind to sign to replace Kenny.
