But he’s not complete rubbish. If his main job was to run around without any pressure in the panthers, roosters, even broncos he would be killing it. The other players make the clutch plays. The other players hide his inadequacies.
It allows you to spend the other 700k on a marquee which tigers do not have any of. We are paying too many average players on above average money.
It also allows you to drop him to ressies for anothe other player who is on 300k…

I’m sure if Trindall walked up to his coach and said I can get a full time nrl spot at Tigers as the 7 , you need to release me so I can take Take this opportunity to play top grade NRL. They would release him plus $ 450 k may help him choose as well

100 percent, they were all carrying on about how they felt really bad for the Bulldogs because of their injurys. Yet last year our injury crisis was worse and not one sound. It's all because they're scared 💩less of Phil Gould.

I'd offer 600k first 2 years then 750 - 800k the following 2. So about 2.75 million for 4 years to be our marquee half and general on the pitch. I'd let him know I see him as our 10 - 15 year franchise player, as long as he can take the opportunity given to him. He would jump at it.

Staying in the right system will ensure his value for many years to come.
Maybe my recollection gets hazier as I get older but I recall the Sharks being in a similar position to us quite a few years ago. They started their move forward by taking quite a few of our cast-offs and slowly improving their team with other players and their quality juniors.
Fast forward to today and they have won a premiership and are a constant lock on a top 8 spot. If they keep renewing the team with quality players e.g Nicho Hynes, they’ll stay there much like the Storm and Roosters.
We need to do the same. Move Brooks on and pay Trindall what we must to get him across. Then keep building. Once a bit of success comes, better players will come and we’ll lose the perennial losers tag.
I admire what Cronulla have done excluding the peptide rubbish. We should emulate them.

don't see us going after him given our pack is not the issue and Matamua is next man up.
I've never understood any of the chat around Mooney as a 13. he would've been a 13 a decade ago but the game's moved on. have a look at his stats, he's lucky to throw more than two passes a game. he's a very good front rower but not a position we require strengthening within.

That's not something that's on the coaches, that's all heart, hunger and desire. It should be ingrained in them they've been doing it since they were 5 years old, if Sheens needs to tell them to do it they shouldn't be in an A grade side. It's just attitude. No idea why but it always seems to fall off a cliff when players come here. One thing that is doing my head in, is all this B.S community engagement crap were always doing, every second day the players are running around doing some crap representing the club. I get it's good p.r for the N.R.L and club but can they just put the brakes on it and focus on training with more intensity and restart all the community stuff once we actually put a few wins togeather.
whys that? I definitely think he's worth a couple years extension even if just as a winger, perhaps this club and its atrocious roster management see's otherwise, i.e. prioritizing blokes in top 30 who will probably never play first grade

A lot being written on Brooks getting $300K next season which means a cost of around $100K to the club with the long term player allowance. I just don't think the NRL would accept $300K as his value, it would be more like $600 - 750 K . At the moment he is not worth that to the club and other clubs except in the Super League may baulk at that figure. If he resigns it will be above $500K but it would be only one season, if he wants longer Super League would be his only option. There's been no news about other clubs having any interest in him .
