Sheens involvement may have been the reason that some of those more experienced coaches were not interested considering his power over football matters.

Flanno was never approached , Hook at Dragons , etc , if you offered this team to Flanno or say Dess it would be done , problem is the board keep making these dumb calls , Flanno if signed up last year I doubt we are even talking about this and we would not be on the booth and winless , now sheens says we are years away for the top end , please he has not made one good move yet , and Now that young Fullback he has just sent him to the top grade and I feel for the kid , he is heading straight to the deep end and could be ugly for him

To be brutally honest, Flanagan, of the names being bandied about once Ciraldo knocked us back, was the only quality candidate available. He's won a premiership, he's a smart, no nonsense coach who is an effective man manager. But, I remember at the time, most posters on here, were against him because of the pep tide scandal. However, if you wanted a proven winner, he was the man and, I'm pretty sure we wouldn't be sitting on 0 and 6 if he was handed the keys.

Should’ve taken up the Walker bros offer - one year deal, finals or bust.
But the ‘brass’ have done something sneaky that NBA GMs do instead. By extending the never ending “re-build” with this idiotic coaches traineeship they can never be held too accountable for results, forever pointing to a future that is not guaranteed. The ineptitude is at the top of the club and they can not be removed by any of us.It will take a highly unlikely attack of conscience by the club to rid themselves of the main reason for our constant failure since all we have at the moment is self perpetuating "jobs for the boys".
