Thanks for your insight champion @twentyforty and I can live with what you said.
But reading the quotes that I stated from the article, it wasn't so much about another defeat, it was rather about the way the team played yesterday.

Brooks was just standing in the background looking on also, we need players who do the little things like the top teams. Standing there watching the play instead of becoming part of it never ends well

Sums up Brooks and Talaus careers. Just haven't got the mindset for basic fundamentals

Bateman can't escape some criticism. Lost the ball at a critical time that allowed Manly to get back into the game. Talau forced a six again with a great kick chase/ tackle which we failed to capitalize on - not a lazy play. You can pick and choose plenty of moments where players could have done better, and or made errors that impacted the outcome. Klemmers challenge was dumb as, the defensive lapse for Uko's try.
The only difference in the end was goal kicking and penalties. We had plenty of opportunity to win and just couldn't get it done.
