Paul Kent

It is interesting that Kent goes for the jugular on the board, while the editor at large relentlessly attacks Sheens.
I agree with Kenty, his criticism is well deserved and at the same time agree with his defence of Sheens, in that he is the only person in the club owning his job and accepting responsibility.

He'll be chuffed next time hes here and see an entire thread dedicated to him

Keep up the good fight Kenty unlike Sheens' Benjis, Pascoes, Hagi's mates in the media who dont wanna upset their buddies and just gloss over all the crap
We need change and highlighting the incompetence in this club is required.

If the truth hurts some fans are you happy to put up with more af the same garbage of the last decade?

I’m actually curious - Kent and Hooper and NRL360 get a lot of hate on here like “Waaaa their saying bad things about the Tigers again!”. Yet they don’t say anything that doesn’t get said by most people here, and we’re usually far less tame. I generally find their assessments of the CEO/Board/coaching/playing style/Brooks/club decisions in general to be fairly accurate. The truth hurts.

Hooper wouldn't know the difference between a footy and a frankfurt, his opinion is absolutely worthless. He just goes with whatever opinion is popular in the hope that someone might vaguely want to be his mate and show some interest in him.

Kent is calling it how it is at the moment which is fair enough. He's got a real bee in his bonnet with a few at the club which is obvious, there are a few clubs that aren't doing a whole lot better than ours on and off the field who basically never get a mention which is strange.

I don't think that people are complaining about what is said about us but it is far more to do with the fact that it is ONLY directed at us.Dogs and Newie have recently had more terrible years at rock bottom than we have (last year and so far this year) and neither have ever copped the crap from News Ltd that we have.
The dogs have been shit for many years and still are with Newie winning the wooden spoon for years in a row

My problem with Kent is that he is a self confessed narrative man and often embellishes things to feed the narrative.
Call out the club, but stick to facts not narratives.

It doesn't make an iota of difference who criticizes the Tigers. There would be plenty of journalists who share the same views as Kent. Actually, any fan that follows the game closely, would draw the same conclusions. Only this morning, at the local cafe, a Souths supporter asked me, 'Do you like Lee Hagipantelis?' I answered 'No, of course not', and added that Lee should keep his mouth shut. My friend then elaborated, 'It all seems to be to boost his own ego and lift his profile'.
The point is, you don't have to be an outspoken journalist, to see that our beloved Tigers are a shambles of a club. Anyone can see it. Kent is paid and encouraged to speak his mind, including tearing down our club. Besides justifiably criticizing the club's incompetency from top to bottom, he is also saying that no one at our club is capable of seeing reality and taking responsibility. I don't particularly like Kent (I think he's as self absorbed as Lee) but rather than lambasting him for calling it the way it is, I think we should commend him for demanding action. Maybe our recalcitrant board will listen to him because they sure as hell don't listen to us.

Whats he said now?
You do realise by him getting under your skin you are doing exactly what he wants you to do, talk about him
This is what got up my nose - he has bagged the board for months - Simon Cook stands down and suddenly Kent reckons he is a great bloke and the only one doing anything. He forgot to mention that Cook has been on the board for the past 10 years and done absolutely nothing. He then goes on to say Dorahy has the runs on the board but his appointment is a ploy and he won't do anything. The guy is a wanker of the highest order.

"
"Earlier this week, board member Simon Cook, one of the few bright lights at the club, stood down from his position on the board to make way for John Dorahy.

From the outside it looks a cynical ploy to add an extra layer of cover between criticism of the football team and criticism of the board, where the true problem lies.

Dorahy is a cult hero from the days of the Western Suburbs Magpies, the days of a cloud of dust and a bucket of blood.

Dorahy is a class act. He has worked at various levels of local council and government, as well as holding board positions before, and his appointment will somewhat safeguard the board against criticism for its lack of footy knowledge.

The directors will just nod towards Dorahy."
