Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Have a look at the recent highlights of Cody Hunter the Redcliffe Dolphins Qld Cup halfback.
He looks more of a ball runner and has also played 5/8 and Fullback, but looks a tall, strong, dynamic ball runner in the Nicho Hynes mould.
He also looks to be a very good goal kicker.
Robert Derby a young 20y.o tall and fast winger with a PNG background who is regularly making over 200m per game.
Ethan Quai-Ward a 22y.o centre currently contracted to the Broncos, but currently available for next season. He too is tall, strongly built and based on the trials looks reasonably fast. He is regularly making over 120m per game as a centre.

Please careful recruiting Cowboys . Nanai and Townsend hopeless
Why worry no established Nrl level players want to come to Concord anyway

Something is not right with them this season to drop off like they have. They’ve had a few injuries but still look good on paper. Hiku, Townsend, Nanai, Hess the biggest dips in form.
Issues amongst the playing group maybe, so far they've been horrendous.
Last year they looked like they could win it all.

Given the halves seem to have forgotten how to pass a good short ball to back rowers in attacking positions it's not a bad idea to put Bateman in the middle. The team are so

disorganised, his unorthodox style in the middle might actually help.
ITS KAMA I TELLS YA KAMA THOSE NEEDLES I PUT IN THOSE DOLLS HAS WORKED.

BUT HOW BAD WAS TOWNSEND???????????

Maybe Payten just squeezed the last good season out of a few older players ie. Townsend, Hiku, Hess, and their drop in form has led to this. Hess had only two good years anyhow, last season and as a rookie. Reminds me a lot of Blake Ayshford.

Maybe that's a really great point. They might just not have anything left to give.

very family orientated pparently can't see him going to SL tbh
Meh that’s below the line thinking.

He could take his family with him on a wonderful opportunity to see the world. Progress his career. Rellos can visit. It’s only for a few years. You can come back with experiences and connections that could set the family up for a lifetime. If the family love him they should embrace the opportunity.

Or they could hold him back?

The Tigers need a player to assume the general kicking duties & to offer stability & direction on the field.

I'm not a fan of Townsend, but he does offer those talents. I'd prefer Sezar, but I imagine Townsend is more available. He also fits what I expect the Tigers need to look for- a player that either needs a lifeline or new challenge. Top line players have turned the club down. Jackson Hastings is the level of player we are attractive to at this point. Townsend is a more rounded player than Hastings currently is, and offers a solid kicking game.

In my opinion, Chad Townsend is what Kyle Flanagan can aspire to being. Difference is, Townsend is a team ^ on-field leader. Flanagan needs to grow into that.

I suspect it's going to end up a Townsend-Brooks combo. Is that hopeless? No. I just don't think it's particularly exciting either. The club needs an explosive player or 2 out wide if Townsend-Brooks is the halves combo.
