I was watching Penrith play and saw the opposite.I was thinking the other day, are the 5/8's of this competition getting a free ride? Most are offering very little. They have games where they do the odd good thing, the odd average thing, and generally stay quiet throughout the game. Munster is the exception obviously, but watch others closely, they have minimal impact on the game but because they are wearing 6 rather then 7 they escape criticism.
So I guess what I'm getting at is, if Luke Brooks plays exactly like he has the past 3 games (parra, manly, Penrith), but is playing 6 next year, is that acceptable with him being on 650k? In comparison to other sixers I think its more then good enough. Just find that organising 7 somehow.
Nathan Cleary could plan out the attack, the big forward pack left him undisturbed to do kicking and strategy.
Luai seemed to be getting involved in everything to help the team cross the line. (obviously not last game).
Likewise Souths and easts. Cody and Keary would definately be instrumental in getting the ball over the tryline and doing what was needed to be done. It's just that they did not have to be in the grind of every play. They could be a tad sneeky.
A commentator said something on the radio that was just so true:
Campbell Graham is killing it at Centre. Manu and Mitchell, when at Centre really helped propel easts forward.
a Centre isn't allowed to roam like a 5/8 or fullback. yet they can be vital to the attack on that side. Jamie Lyon comes to mind from Manly, put an out of favour 5/8 from parra into the centres and suddenly you have an attack weapon.
