Luke Brooks #167

All Brooks knockers Please complete prior to next game
Oh dear. This was what I feared......all the Brooks lovers would come out in force, once he had a half decent game......finally. There is nothing to apologise for. I realise this post was, at least half, meant in humour but, sorry, a few excellent kicks in one game does not change the fact that, overall, he has been abysmal as a first grade halfback this year. Once again, most of our last tackle options against the Panthers were atrocious. If we had proper halves we would have beaten Penrith by 20. Well done Brooksy for a far better performance but I want to see this level every game and better creativity when in the opposition quarter before I apologise!
Great win Tigers!!

You know the big difference last night imo. He played halfback - wasn't just named in the 7 but he took control of the kicking game, had 20 more possessions then Wakeham, was running the plays. This year he has been playing the secondary half to Douehi and then Wakeham playing as a running 5/8 but last night he played as the halfback and he looked like he did in 2018/19 when he played his best footy.

I'm not saying it's the answer long term but in 2018 when he won the Dally m halfback that was how he played and that year when we had our starting props we won most games and with the a forward pack like we have now we could do it and you. Mayby you could pay him 300k a year and put him with a creative 5/8

The Tigers kept both Panfers Halfs very quiet , we owned them

I was thinking the other day, are the 5/8's of this competition getting a free ride? Most are offering very little. They have games where they do the odd good thing, the odd average thing, and generally stay quiet throughout the game. Munster is the exception obviously, but watch others closely, they have minimal impact on the game but because they are wearing 6 rather then 7 they escape criticism.

So I guess what I'm getting at is, if Luke Brooks plays exactly like he has the past 3 games (parra, manly, Penrith), but is playing 6 next year, is that acceptable with him being on 650k? In comparison to other sixers I think its more then good enough. Just find that organising 7 somehow.

100%. Brooks on $ 600/650 is the number and add Hunt

I’ve always thought brooks has something to offer at that sort of wage but have an appropriate role that suits his skill set.

Agree. Cody Walker another exception. Did Luai play last night?
