Appointment of Scott Fulton to Wests Tigers

I personally think it's a good appointment &
have no problem with Sheens not being kept
in the loop seeing he won't be coach after
next year. Fulton has got good connections
and is an astute negotiater by all accounts.
McDonnell is a good guy but we needed
change there tbh. He's not savvy, more of
a pub guy without sounding snooty. On the
other hand, I hope the fact that Pascoe has
sacked him twice and now demoted him
doesn't cause any internal problems. Here's
hoping anyway they're all on the same page
But he will be Director of Football and I would have thought he should be in the loop,
Obviously McDonnell is a TS mate and sounds like he’s very lucky to be there.

Me either but I know how TS will feel.
Wonder if Benji knew -and worked around Tim with Lee/Pascoe.
Not a good scene for a club trying to build solidarity. Sounds like McDonnell perceived not to have done his job properly with Moses.
All very messy and just shows the continued communication problems at hq.

I don't think the board and CEO are in a position to throw stones at the football staff given their 10 plus years of failure.

That said Lee argument about the Moses negotiations is a valid one.

Yeah I doubt Hagi and Pascoe will be getting chrissy cards from Tim & wazza this year... I don't like it, but I do like it.... Fulton sounds like he's really in the loop with a LOT of good players, do we want someone & something new with fresh ideas or do we stick with tweedle Dee & dim timbo & wazza macca?
We just seem to go from one bloody drama to another tho

I'm not a fan of it, But I'm less of a fan of bringing Daddy Mac back....
Canterbury are only recovering from his tenure there now
- We pulled him out of real estate....

And if he was responsible for our recruitment until he left in 2016...
There weren't many recruitment wins in the few years before that.

😳😳😳

Looks like the disaster of negotiations with Moses sealed a new direction for elite recruitment.

Don't know I believe3 much of what those clowns say...

But heard them mention, There was never an offer bought back from negotiations for the board to approve...
Not only did we miss - Mighta missed by plenty.

Well it looks like Moses agent played McDonnell off a break.
When we were all calling for a line in the sand from the club, it looks like he was acting one out thinking he could nail the deal. And at the same time pushing up the price !
Think we might have sent the wrong guy into the fight.

Feel the same way, as to me this is the board and CEO taking responsibility by filling a perceived weakness, or at least improving the club.

The only major problem for mine, would be if Sheens was not notified immediately and could have learnt of the change from elsewhere. If he hadn't have taken on the coaching role, it is a different story.

So, Pascoe and Lee have nothing to do with football operations? That will do me.

To do this in secrecy from your head coach is absolutely dumb as hell.
Rubbish isn't it the whole point of getting a football director was to seperate the football department from front office. Be a liaison but control all the football department. Now they move Sheen's out of the role and decide to go over his head.

You can't make this stuff up. Lee is so delusional it Beggar's belief.

Valid? Moses was never leaving Parra. Irrelevant who was trying to woo him. If the board was surprised with the lack of response then they are naive and frankly not in the right job

Yep, my opinion is that Sheens should have been told immediately negotiations started, unless they were worried he would run interference in favour of his mate.
Why does this sort of stuff keep happening. It is in direct contravention of Lees comments about staying out of football activities.
Not the end of the world but messy , and adding further detriment to the WT brand.

Yeh, head recruitment for Mac probably too big of a promotion.

Think he is a Isaac man but Isaac screwed him with Mitch.

Yeh then MAC shouldn't of went for him in the first place. That's on him.

We beat the premiership favourites but on Monday the club finds a way to get its self in the media for the wrong reasons

Lee shut up and do your job no 1 wants to hear from you
I wonder whether the Tigers source attributed in this article and who divulged the McDonnell negotiations with Isaac Moses was actually Moses himself.

The purpose to create instability at the Tigers given the appointment of Scott Fulton who has a great relationship with a rival player manager in Mario Tartak.

I just don’t think Pascoe would be so stupid to tell Chammas all this detail which can only hamper his relationship with Sheens/McDonnell & potentially Benji.

I kinda think the initial discussion was driven by the coaching team wanting to get Moses and Brooks back together.
If that is correct then I would have sent Brno annd LB along with WM to try and nail the deal.
Unusual , yes, but sometimes when the stakes are high you have to think outside the box.
Anyway, water under the bridge now. So who are our next big targets now we have Fulton around ?

Whatever you think of Fulton at the end of the day Lee,Pascoe and the board went over the head of the coach that they put in place the last few months. Before Sheen's got here the club had more leaks than a seive.

It makes me laugh so much that they think they needed to keep it close to their chests when they are the ones most likely been leaking info all this time anyway.

This club is definately not boring.

Same. I think I like it overall but don’t drag the politics through the media and don’t let the politics filter down into the playing squad.

Real question is who he wants in the halves. Hopefully not Schuster.
