A good week just got better for Wests Tigers with the club signing one of the best utility backs in the Queensland Cup - immediately.

Wynnum's Tony Pellow, a 26-year-old who can play fullback, centre and halfback, is expected to make his debut in the NSW Cup next weekend.

His arrival coincides with a massive week for the Tigers in which they knocked off premiers Penrith in what some critics are calling the upset of the decade.

A Dubbo junior, Pellow played for St George Illawarra in the NSW Cup before stints with the Brisbane Tigers and Wynnum in Queensland.

He came to the attention of Tigers scouts in the sunshine state with his form for Wynnum this season and has signed with the club until the end of 2024.

He is expected to put the pressure on Luke Brooks - who ironically played his best game for several seasons in the Penrith boilover - and could also challenge for the fullback spot, although the Tigers have found a real prospect there in 21-year-old Kiwi Jahream Bula.

If Rumours are true and Sam Walker to cowboys.
Townsend to Tigers
Schuster to tigers
Flannagan to Manly

2024 spine
9. Api
7. Townsend
6. Brooks
1. Bula
13. Schuster

Would prefer to see Brooks get signed as a 6 not 7

or
9. Api
7. Brooks
6. Schuster
1. Bula

not so keen on Schuster as a 6 though
So who do the roooters get , if ur right about any of theses moves then the roooters have to be getting someone to start it all

I'm open minded on Schuster. Yes he looks out of shape but he also had 3 try assists in the Parramatta game alone. Luke Brooks has two for the season. We really don't have a dynamic game breaker on our books.
If they sign him they need to add a clause in a contract that says if he doesn't stay below a certain percentage body fat, then he gets fined.

Agree with that. I don’t see him as a 5/8th either but others seem to think he is.
I think he's more suited to backrower but is talented enough to force himself into 5/8 similar to latrell and fullback, also don't think he's suited to 13 while having good ball skills I think he's more effective on the edge

It was 1975 7-7 draw - Wests had the 1 point deducted and it cost them a place in the semis. Because of the deducted point they ended up in a 3 way tie for 5th - playoffs were used rather than F/A to settle 5th place. Parra won three way playoff. So Wests missed out because of point deducted. Funny thing is had they used F/A Wests would have got in as they had much better F/A than Balmain and Parra.
Has anyone heard anything about this.
Been very quiet nothing in news about this since Saturday morning.
Bet its going to be ignored, dont want to upset Russell.

Meanwhile over at St. George it's reported that Hook has dropped Lomax but Mbye retains his perfect record of never being dropped.
Lomax appears very egotistical, therefore if it is true he’s been dropped for Sunday’s game, I’d say it’s highly likely he’d be wanting out and requesting a release ASAP.
Although unlikely the Dragons management would grant a release to someone of Lomax’ talent, funnier things have happened.
Being a quality goal kicker aside from his undoubted ability, he’d be a player who would no doubt help make Wests Tigers a more formidable line up.

Yep I would take him no problem , he can kick well and goes pretty good , he was switched from one side to the other this season maybe back where he was helps him
