Appointment of Scott Fulton to Wests Tigers

That’s what he does. Gets his claws into a club and then has a cluster of players that he gets overpaid or pulls them all from the club. You need to have players with a spread of managers in your club so not one of the managers has too much influence. I imagine it would be very difficult to do, especially for us who are desperate for players.

Forgot to mention Woods

A good move I think. I worry when people are pulled out of non rugby league roles into rugby league roles like Macca was for us. You are behind the 8 ball for starters.

The way Lee and Justin went about this leads me to believe that they believe Sheens or someone close to him are leaking to the media. There was no leak for this hiring so perhaps they are correct.

It may also be the case that the club (CEO and Board) were concerned of Macca negotiating alone with Isaac Moses regarding Mitchell Moses. To me that screams of “illegal payments” with Isaac involved (past history and all) and Macca alone. It’s poor corporate control and if we got busted doing anything illegal around that, it’s very likely the CEO and some/all of the board would have to step down (perhaps not a bad thing…). So I understand their nervousness around it.
That makes sense.
What doesn’t make any sense at all is people saying Lee had no time to at least show the courtesy of picking up the phone?

Is there any correlation to John Dorahys appointment to the Board getting us Scott Fulton? Seems to fit the timeline, if so hope it's a sign that we now actually have a Board Member with the ability to make shit happen.
You could be on the money. Warren Mc shouldn’t be in charge of recruitment. He has failed miserably in the past and his position is basically a job for the boys from Sheens. I am not saying Fulton will get us the cream of the crop but I believe he is an upgrade on Warren.

Yeh, Warren the only recruitment guy is a bit of a stretch. Do rate his eye for talent picks up good talent in Sydney and QLD schools.

THIS!!

Left us in a hole....
Left the dogs in a hole....
And wasn't even in the game when we pulled him back in.
Putrid appointment...

Even as the recruitment man, Why has he always been in the coaches box?

I think it is widely agreed Scott Fulton is a great acquisition for us & Warren McDonnell's record over time with us is not great and he's only here because of Sheens.

The issue is whether Tim Sheens was advised of the new NRL recruitment manager role & possibility of Fulton before his appointment, and ultimately him accepting of this moving forward.

Otherwise it has the potential to cause distrust between Football & Admin/Board, Sheens questioning his role moving forward & lack of 'one-club' mentality.

I can't fathom how Sheens wouldn't have been involved & always question credibility of media stories.

Hopefully the club do set the record straight in the weekly podcast or Sheens' weekly pre-game presser.

You don’t see value in the head coach and the recruiting guru watching football together? Wow.

To watch blokes they've already recruited?
On game day? No not really...

I'd be interested in how many other clubs have a failed recruitment guy they pulled from the back streets of working in real estate in the coaches box though...

I don't know mate it's the who club vs individual argument again, and in fairness WT and Bulldogs are not the best well run clubs.

For me it's the evidence of all the players he spotted while here with sheens who kicked on at other clubs.

Shows when club officials don't get too involved and messy he definitely can do a job when working together with someone like Sheens.

After sheens and his time at Bulldogs both clubs had way too much politics going on with officials makes recruiting more difficult.

No Doubt...
I'd reckon the Hit / Miss rate for quality Window Lickers and Dish Pigs would be pretty good...
Thanks, but if I was employing people for those types of jobs I most definitely would have referred to an expert such as yourself.
I was hiring talented creative people. 👍
