I saw him as the short term tie over, esp for depth until we signed or developed out long term half. You can’t compete in the market with those stupid offers.

When you look at all the good 7s playing today they all have very good 6s and most have settled spines.
It’s a cop out to load up on Brooksy for the problems we have at the club.

I'm not saying he has been great but he has had more than one good game this year and I'm convinced a lot more than that in his career. He has been one of our best this season.

Newcastle definitely wanted him and it wasn't to get rid of Klemmer.

I'm not sure if we will offer him a contract next season or if any other club will but I assume he'll get a gig if he wants to play on. Then again some players do just disappear.

The problem with the Brooks bashers is they are too over the top. It's not about Brooks being a marquee player because he isn't and I can't see that changing. We need to determine if Brooks is one of the two best halves we can put on the field and is his contract cost to us reasonable.

Looking back at some of those match highlights from the videos you provided, Brooks could have and should have been a genuine marquee player all along.......if we could have just held on to the big three plus Simona and Ado Carr.
What an amazing Team We could have been 👍, and we all would have felt 20 years younger than we do atm 😉.
But imo the weight of expectation on his shoulders from being the only one remaining from the big 4, has been too heavy a load for him to carry.
Now he has got a couple of players around him that are or can be as good as the big three, his confidence is back 🤞and I hope he is able for his sake as well as ours, to have a few more years of marquee class football left in him, and he is able to retire as a genuine Legend for WT.

Personally I think as a secondary half he is worth another contract but I wouldn't be rushing into it. In some ways I think it's a meaningless issue. We need a gun half at the club. I don't have any confidence Brooks can be a marquee player.

Brooks can’t have been too bad if he’s had no pressure to retain his spot in the team.
That says to me that the entire team has been poor.
They can sack him for all I care. This is what they do. When Sheens said he was looking for a development coach, pretty sure he was meaning a coach who could get the best from every player, regardless of their age or level of experience.
Brooks surely isn’t finished, he has everything to play for, if they can’t unlock the magic in him then he will go somewhere else.

Brooks has been really good this season?? With respect, are you able to put your man crush aside for one moment and look at the reality of his overall performance? Most on here would agree that he has been really bad in 2023 which is why we're investigating securing a replacement. Having said that, you are spot on regarding Api being our best player.

Jake Clifford killing it in the UK Super League.
He has played many great games in the NRL but always seemed to get blamed ever time his team got beat.
In my opinion he’s definitely a decent quality NRL standard number 6, still young enough to have potential to take his NRL ability to a higher level in the right environment.

There's not heap I would get excited about in that list.
I would be fine if we grabbed any of the following for squad depth;
- Jake Averillo (suffered from being too adaptable, gets moved around far too much, looks at home in the centres right now).
- Brian Kelly (he's got talent and GC has never been good at developing raw talent)
- Peta Hiku (very solid centre does that job well most weeks)
- Bailey Simonsson (again, solid Wing/centre can do a job when called on)

HM for Bullemor, he's a decent player I just don't think we need anymore forward depth at the moment.

Benji, Farah and Sheens should be selling the dream to players, not offering millions without talking to the player.

Yes I had forgotten those great years he had, but after Teddy moses woods all left the club he obviously lost his Mojo and all we see these days is glimpses of his haydays. Wheras Moses who came through the ranks with him, is still playing at a high level pretty much 7 out of 10 matches.
