Although Joffa only re-signed 8 months ago, it's clear to say a fair bit has changed up front.
Klem signing long term and has moved into the leader of the pack. Stef finally fit and appears a walk-up starter, as does Pole, who the coaching staff absolutely love. The club has realised there’s too much money in a wasted bench spot. Matamua, Blore all able to fill a role.

If Joffa makes way, it promotes a top 30 spot for Aitasi James.

James has been edging closer every week in the team selections.

James can be selected now. I would give him a couple of games before saying he’s the future. Try before you buy

How can the Eels even talk to Joffa without the Tigers saying he can leave? I don't understand the rules around player discussions at all...
Aside from that, do the Eels really need Joffa? He'll just be coming off the bench there too?
This is a strange one.

Yeah I was on their site. They talk him up like an agressive hard-worker etc. He ain't agressive. But He is a hard-worker.

Why would we let him go?

Twal has improved heaps and he's been the same but that's still consistent and good for a bench prop..I'd rather more impact but our forwards are going alright at the moment.

Moving Joe O would be a very positive move going forward.

Solid player, but has 2.5 years to go and will be a bench player at most.

We have kids like Chris Fa’agutu coming through who are going to be vastly better than Joe. That spot needs to be opened up / cleared.

If we can jag Sanders in the deal...it will be an absolute masterstroke.

Parra never ever do us any favours so dont count on getting anything out of them

I wouldn't. Might work this year but moving forward in two years it feels like a waste. Are they just trying to make the 8 or win it? Getting hunt for two years you won't win it so what's the point?

Rather go for a 25 year old halfback and put Burton back to 6.

Whats that old saying.......It is better to be smarter than you appear than to appear smarter than you are!, lets hope that we know what we are doing regarding Joe, as he is a solid 1st grade player and our so call young brigade are not up to this standard, week in and week out will catch them out.Not a fan if this happens. 🙁

Joffa is our 4th/5th choice prop and likely getting paid overs for that role. If we can get out of that contract I think it would be fine business.

Would our team realistically lose a lot with Blore/Matamua/James taking his 35 minutes a game? Blore arguably offers more versatility as he can play wide and we have Bateman move to lock and Pole up front...

These mid season transfers are the death of me (figuratively speaking).
Can't keep up.
You follow a player one game, he's in another jersey the next.
The transfer system really needs to be fixed.

I agree that if Joffa leaves, it's likely that it won't be for anyone in return. It would free up a Top 30 spot to fill by June 30, give us more salary cap space & enable the club to use Blore/Matamua/James/Seyfarth in the 17.

We'd have 5 weeks for Fulton then to weave his magic to try to land a mid-season external recruit or if not, upgrade from within (like we had to do last season with Henry O'Kane taking a top 30 spot) which gives players like James, Mansfield or even Feledy etc a chance to push for this upgrade.
