We all get suspicious of Gus when he starts to clear the decks of unwanted and under performing players, but when Shifty starts doing the same everyone’s up in arms about it.
There’s got to be a reason behind it, I suspect that it’s about creating a spot in our top 30.
We can bring up anyone from KOE if we want to now.
I said earlier in the year that I thought that Joe O would struggle to make our top17.

Stef, Klemmer, papali'i, Blore, twal, pole, seyfarth can all play in the middle if needs be, not to mention possible reserves options. But you don't make these kinds of decisions based upon possible catastrophic injury tolls in the future.

All of his best footy last year was played at 13.
We are weak in this position.

we sign Koula for 2025 season and start agitating for a release for 2024
Manly let Koula go a year early if we take Schuster

We then have a 6 in Schuster for 2023 to partner brooks.
2024 we go for Johnson to partner Schuster and if he doesn't sign you can still sign Brooks as the 7 if you need to

We are the last club he would consider imo.
It’s no fun experiencing the team’s morale anchored to a low point, by a board continually fighting over positional authority and undermining the coach.
Hunt deserves a lot of credit the way he rose above the internal politics and continually inspired the team.

Or we could have used the guy who was one of the NRLs best players last year. Might have been worth a shot before trading him off.
 
For that $ for the next 2 years, good riddance.
Wasn't long ago he was plodding, only looked
good last year playing with a bunch of rookies
and Musgrove with Twal & Utoikamanu out and
not having Klemmer in the team at that point.
He's secured the bag too, I'm not upset by this
