Sorry mate, but yeh, our opinions on his best position are less than irrelevant.

I do understand your perspective though and I can see why it's frustrating. On character alone, I'm disappointed to see him leave.

It’s just another black mark on our pathetic recruitment and retention attitudes. It makes us look amaturish and as Hooper is publically stating…’a laughing stock’. Everything is relevant.

Probably. I like Joffa in the squad. I just see all the madge signings being moved on. Classic move to disrupt them by playing them out of position. Form and morale then drops making it easier for the club to make their move.
 
He's literally the 4th or 5th best prop at our club. I don't get why some people are getting so worked up here. Can you even name the 4th/5th best prop at 5 clubs other than our own? We're paying him somewhere from $450-600k in a role that should be making $300k at most and playing ~30mins a game.

We signed him on starter / borderline rep level money. And he is now a bench player.

My issue with offloading Joffa is why are we doing Parramatta favours when they've been screwing us for a decade? & why not try & get a player in return? He was also great for culture & a lot of the islander boys looked up to him.

That’s our fault. He is an 80 minute player who excelled at lock last year.
 
Joe didn't play lock. He played prop with the 13 on his back. He's not a ball player and he's not a guy in the mould of a Cam Murray who troubles opposition with footwork at the line.

He's not being played out of position - he's a guy who thrives on playing longer minutes because he's got a good motor and can get through a lot of work. Klemmer's taken over that pack leader role for us now and Ofahengaue isn't doing as well in a role where more impact is required. It's not rocket science or some conspiracy to move Madge's guys on.

Agreed but maybe we are screwing Parra a little. If they have to carry a big contract for a couple of years it will affect their ability to recruit and retain players over that time period.

What if he goes over there, is used properly and enhances their squad?
We’ve seen it happen with Hastings and I have no doubt we’ll see it again with Joffa.
Meanwhile we sit in last place and have done so all year.
