One to watch this week is Junior Pauga for the Roosters. Unwanted by us. Signed with North Sydney on a NSW Cup contract. Smashing it in NSW Cup. Now getting a start with the Chooks. Robbo has dropped Tupou & Paulo. Could have been one that got away.

Much prefer our Tupou & Nofa seems to have found his mojo again but could have been handy to hold on to on reasonable $$$. Can play centre & wing.

Pauga reminds me of Brayden Villiame - whenever he gets selected I would bet the house on their opponent!

Seyfarth can do a job for us. Not a long term
prospect though, been in our system for ages.
He will tick boxes and do his assignments but

We don't need a defensive workhorse when we have someone like Twal in the squad. Haven't seen this guy play but he's only 22. He's not huge but if he plays with real mongrel and can have an impact in attack and defence then giving him a chance could work

Starting Pole says we are short on experienced players. He is going to be really good but he's not there yet. Matamua starting would be the same issue and then some. I'm curious to see if Seyfarth can handle the step up this weekend.

What if the Sheens theory about 50 NRL games needing to be played before being able to become a consistent first grade player is correct (or something along those lines), and it seems to be close to the mark in the case of Starford Toa.

Imagine if in another 10 or 15 games Alex Seyfarth turns into Keith Galloway or Cory Horsburgh.

There is definitely something there with Seyfarth. He is consistently a class above in KOE cup. I think that form will translate to NRL over time. Not everyone hits the ground running like Pole.

Good post KS and I agree with what you have written. Also he would be on a modest contract noting the cap doesn't permit 30 stars.
