Origin 2023

They won't drop Teddy not a chance but he should be getting a tap on the shoulder, go out on "his terms"
100% should be turfing Fittler he's a gronk that doesnt have a clue what the hell he's doing.
Let’s not forget his motivational speech about what Tina Turner did for the women’s game etc.
I would think that went through to the keeper faster than a Pat Cummins thunderbolt.
It obviously helped get their heads right.
Pleeeeeeese !

Don't think you'd ever be in the running for mensa membership champ and re the game - you won and deserved to win. You guys played the critical moments far better than us. That was never at issue.
What do you consider the critical moments?

How many times did he pass ?
Its crazy in the current game how many tries are not scored due to centres and fullbacks refusing to use their wingers. Gone are the days of Gasnier drawing two and putting his winger away. These days they draw two and then try and bust through them.

Criton was probably the best back for NSW but he wasn't in any way good at all.

Turbo/Fox edge was almost non existent.
Teddy was woeful.
Bizza is a fantastic winger but he won't last long in the game with how Penrith have chosen to use him, which NSW tried (and failed) to replicate.....

Criton passed to To'o once and it went over the side line.

That backline was disgraceful...
Feel like Freddy told em not to utilise Fox at all...

Needs a overhaul asap I reckon.

...on the side side tho, Billy picked the right team. I wondered why he left Xavier Coates out but Cobbo, Walsh, Tuilagi, Hammer & Val... all played well.

I had huge reservations about our back 5 when they were announced.
Walsh has been good this year but was an uknown at rep level and was going to face the best tactical kicker in the game punting for some of the best highball chasers in the game.
Taulagi and Cobbo are beasts but they have a lot of simple mistakes in them due to inexperience. Their opposites are very experienced and contain weapons of power and speed.
Hammer and Val were the biggest concern. They were selected to mark Latrell and Turbo. Two guys who on their day, could put the game out of reach in a ten minute spurt of ferocity. Additionally, neither of our blokes are renowned defensive centres. It would appear Billy's mentality here was fight fire with fire.

All up, it was a very brave selection of these 5 when more accomplished and experienced players were left at home. Hindsight is 20/20 and it turned out a master stroke. These guys were never troubled in defense and in attack they always looked likely to get through the NSW wall. The QLD staff who selected and prepared these guys deserve huge wraps.

Hi all, after reading for a couple of years I’ve decided to register,
First question hopefully hasn’t already been asked,
Why did both NSW wingers and Crichton play on the opposite sides of the field on Wednesday night then they do on the weekends for their clubs ?
Made no sense to me
Hopefully moves Addo next to Latrell and To’o to back to the right next to Crichton or Graham.

Until Turno shows some sign of having any acceleration back I couldn’t pick him for round 2

Interested how these two go in the 2nd game, expecting them to see more traffic and likely be tested (defensively) much more than in Origin 1.

Yeah they weren’t really tested. Very poor tactics not to go at them.
