I would make five changes to the top 17 for next week.
Naden For Talau
Laurie For Wakeham
Smith For Simpkin
Matamua For Kepaoa
James For Seyfarth

My reasoning for these changes is quite simple Naden is better than Talau, Laurie is better than Wakeham who is way to slow for a half, Smith has more utility value than Simpkin, Matamua can replace Pole more effectively than Kepaoa because lock is his position and James is better than Seyfarth.

At least Wakeham can tackle and kick adequately for an NRL half - unlike Doueihi again OR your suggestion Daine Laurie!

You have proven your age or maturity - by picking questionable defenders like Laurie - James - Smith and Matamua just because you think they are "better" in attack in fricking reserve grade!!

Blore is injured again - let him get some match fitness before he is even considered!!

You Blore fanboys (who base your fandom on his physique rather than his playing ability) really need to get your hand off it and watch some games!

He is a project player at this stage of his career due to so many injuries!

Juvenile moron - our defence is the main thing keeping us in games after Doueihi's injury allowed us 13 tacklers on the field!! Deadshit!

Laurie is an arm grabber like Adam - but not at strong and less inclined to the collision!!

He is not a 5/8th - and has never shown any form of kicking game aside fromovercooked grubbers!

James is so far off NRL it is not funny!! His front on line defence has given away multiple tries for the Magpies!!

Matamua is a great prospect - but does not play physically enough at his current to reliably defend in the middle!

You want to re-invent the wheel after a 1 point loss!

Watch a few NSW Cup games before pushing Laurie’s case to start. He is atrocious.

Believe that we need to give Bateman a roving commission. He will naturally create opportunities through his running style.

I’d probably prefer Naden in the centres but Talau played ok against Raiders.

Kepaoa has been playing well with not much game time. I have named Seyfarth but would probably prefer Blore to give Kepaoa a break at some point given his limited game time.
 
No changes except Laurie for Simpkin. Jake 18th man this week. Can put Laurie on as a second 5/8 for the last 15 minutes I think that extra speed through the middle would be the difference.

I like it. I would swap Brooks and Wakeham's numbers even though it'll make no difference. I'm assuming Talau is gone so I'd look to play Naden there when ready. I'd also look to play Tallyn Da Silva over Simpkin when he is ready. They only need to be on the field for 20 minutes.

I think we need a little more impact on the bench as well fo I'd probably swap Stef and Twal. Stef needs to improve massively. Pole to me has overtaken Stef.

I don’t see them removing Simpkin unless they’re going to run another dummy half, we will loose api to origin coming up so are definitely going to need to think about that. I get Simpkin wasn’t great on the weekend but we don’t have much other options at dummy half realistically
