I'm so impressed with Bateman and he can fill that right edge spot fine.

I also think he can fill the 13 spot and do a good job.

The question is will being at 13 all game blunt his attack and can we get another edge backrower.

I would probably bite the bullet though and play Blore as an edge backrower and Bateman at 13 all game. Kepoa on the bench. If Blore doesn't cut it we should recruit in that spot as well.

While reading another teams forum trying to find information about a player on our hit list, I read a comment about someone saying that Roosters are going to go hard for Hunt.
It sounds exactly like a Roosters thing to do given their past.
All the Walker talk has gone quiet but gee's, I would love for us to be sniffing hard around there about him.

I really can’t see we have the players coming throw to replace them , I know there is talk we are after this player and that player but unlike other teams that who just get business done , we stuff around .

I’m still trying to decipher what Sheens meant when he said words to the effect of Bateman was the domino we needed to fall…I thought it meant his signing would trigger others but so far duck egg.

if we've let Ofahengaue go and it now looks as if Blore is on the outer, then Scott Sorensen absolutely has to come into calculations. experienced, premiership winning forward utility that can play through the middle and on an edge. even if we sign Friz there's a spot for him in the 17. would be an excellent acquisition and we'd easily outbid Penrith for his services.

well we need 30 players contracted by the end of the month plus the junior development contracts. So we are either going to have to do some internal upgrading or external signings in the next three weeks. One would think something is brewing if both Blore and Joffa need replacing. Although they may be writing off this year and going to offer top 30 places to a couple of the young kids in order to lock them in. Interesting few weeks ahead

Klemmer, Bateman and co have been purchased and others have left. We don't know what is planned but roster management is like chess. If we can move on players who can get more game time elsewhere and their new clubs are prepared to pay full rate, it seems like a good plan. We don't know what moves our club is making but there will be a plan.

We can look at the quality that has been brought in such as Klemmer etc which probably provides a good indication of the quality of targets.

There’s no doubt we are aiming high.
Recent failures are indicating there is no plan b and that’s concerning.

Bateman is a more skilled player than many other NRL forwards. He has nous, the step, good speed and ability to create. I often believe the creativity of many players is removed from their games so they become NRL robots. i would like to see a few more UK forwards at WTs.

I think it would be one of them not both as both would want starting spots in the backrow if a plan is to move Bateman to lock. That would still leave us with backup 2nd row options - moving Bateman back, Kepaoa, Mansfield/Tumeth.

I would chase Hunt over Walker any day , that’s why Rorters are going after Hunt , Walker is not that great
