Where is our team at at the moment?

I get what you are saying but am far less easily impressed these days.
When I see the team fumble and bumble for more than 3/4 of the game, only to mount an exhilarating comeback yet ultimately lose as they couldn’t get their act together at the death, I don’t feel the need to shower them with praise.
We’ve had squads who played with heart and fight before, but footy smarts and IQ has always been our weakness. We havent had it since Scott Prince and sadly this side is lacking it as well. That game on Friday was setup to go to extra time. We tried to score a try. It was dumb footy. A good side would have slotted the FG and then continued on with their momentum to win it in OT.
We’ve been unlucky at times this year for sure. We have also been pretty terrible at times.
they backed themselves and had a go & why wouldn't ya...3 tries in under 10mins
kick a field goal...possibly miss...give them the ball to close out the game
go to extra time is 50/50
every team fumbles and bumbles but they put that behind and had another crack...point is they didn't give up
SP & BM was almost 20 years ago...that's what i mean by 'positivity that hasn't been seen for a very very long time'
embrace it

I think it’s reasonably obvious we are in a rebuilding phase certainly in better stead on the paddock than last year. We have the bulk of a very good pack locked in, but we need to get the key recruitment right in our halves, the 1 and 9 are locked 6 and 7 need to be addressed or else this rebuild steadying phase means bugger all.

I don’t agree that that was the correct option.
We were the better side. All momentum was with us.
You keep yourself in the contest and you secure the win after. That is the smart play. What we did was the panicky low percentage play.
Anyway, moot point. Game was lost.
Titans game now becomes must win.

it's a confidence game and they were confident and had a crack and backed themselves
i have no problem with that
we haven't had a team for a long time with that sort of confidence
it didn't come off? better luck next time
if it had...everybody woulda been raving about it
maybe next time it will pay
they're finding their feet and combos
the future is bright

I disagree on our halves. They are performing great. Wakeham is kicking goals from everywhere, his defense is great, he is getting early ball to our backs and To'a in particular. Brooks is making busts, throwing beautiful passes, kicking 40/20's and making his tackles.

They definitely both aren't marquee halves but they can do the job while we look to recruit a marquee half or a development player who may become a marquee half.

I think this team is good enough to move up the ladder a lot without any changes. I think the coaching staff need to get us playing better. It's almost like we are a little out of sorts despite trying really hard.

I think individuals are playing well and we are staying in games as a number of individuals are playing well simultaneously. The team though, is not playing well. That’s on the coaches.

Brooks has yet to be offered a contract apparently and Wakeham is only on a one year deal. “If” the reports are accurate Brooks may be off to England. If they are both the answer they should have been re signed already. I said yesterday I’d be happy if the club offered Wakeham a contract extension with a modest increase but I still see him as a back up half which every club needs.
So as it stands we do need to get the key areas of 6 & 7 sorted either way, if they believe Brooks is the answer they should get him on a deal.
I’ll also caveat that with I think we need at least one half capable of taking that next step ie a marquee half, easy to say hard to do I know but that’s the state of play.

Until round 7 , I was resigned to recording our matches and perhaps watching the odd win as I could not see how we could challenge the other teams in the comp. However since then I am happy that each game is now a 50/50 chance and they are having a go for each other. Even the close losses now are easier to take as they are no longer putting in mediocre performances. Any way next week against our bogey team will be a good test

I actually think this is the easiest area to improve the team to make a massive step up the ladder but I also think it's proven to be unrealistic. We didn't get Munster and we didn't get Moses. We even tried with Johnston who isn't a marquee player and we couldn't get him.

What will be interesting is if we resign Brooks and Wakeham. I think us resigning them will be based solely on how much they are after. I'm sure the club wants to keep them especially Brooks but it depends on money. I don't want Brooks on marquee dollars.

I like the idea of going after Fainu but I think that is unlikely as well.

We also have Doueihi but he has been so so poor. I think him coming good is highly unlikely. I'd love to be wrong.

I'm starting to trust the club though in relation to making the right decisions.

If Dragons beat Panthers by 17 points or more tonight then we will be dead last again. Been a really good 6 weeks but we need to beat the Titans and also an origin free Storm over the next 2 weeks. Losing to Raiders or South's at full strength in close games is ok but we need to beat teams lower on the table or weakened like Storm will be to get out of the bottom 4

If we resign Brooks and Wakeham on fair money not marquee especially Brooks I can see how a play for Fainu becomes an option particularly with the Fulton links. The key is to not pay overs for average halves, which is what they both are. Wakeham being the one who has surprised me most bang for buck.
As for Doueihi I think he done here after his next deal expires we won’t resign him or we shouldn’t imo.

How could I forget that the refs were against us?
My mistake the boys were excellent the other night. What a great loss.
No one asked you to feign being happy about it, stop making such high quality posts…

That is an incorrect lie.
My comment was how Luke showed great leadership and thinking to pot that field goal and get us ahead.
As for the Raiders attack, I also made many comments that their attack was very poor and they weren’t throwing much at us at all.
I also made a few comments when we were still 0 score that completing the half chances we were making would win the game.

It’s funny you missed all that stuff and have focused on me not getting excited about us punishing them when a man down, only to shit the bed and still lose. Cool narrative though 👍🏼
That’s a lot of lies for a truth-speaker. It’s funny how this entire subject flies over your head.

Before you even bother, is it worth it?

Why is it must win? You don’t support the Tigers?

We had literally ONE set to go for it, and then did. WTF were you watching mate?

Because we can’t afford to drop anymore than 2 more games and we have some top teams to play yet. Therefore every game against lower ranked sides are must win.
Can’t believe that needs explaining. I swear to god sometimes I’m not conversing with Rugby League people….

I’m just faking it like the rest of you…unless your being serious….You aren’t are you 🤮
Lmao fair play to you mate. Just saying we were definitely dudded in several ways on Friday. You can agree to disagree…

I feel very strongly that one of our players ran over Gerry Sutton’s (wife) dog
