LIVE GAME Round 15 vs. Titans

Live Game Discussion
I would like to see the justification.
He raised his forearms and pushed them in a forwards motion at a guy who was at least a foot shorter, thus striking him flush on the chin.
This decision is not origin related but I’d like them to explain why we lose our best player for months because he was struck in the face and that’s ok.
Next time we play Tino tell Klem to cock his elbows.
Zero consequences.

I wonder sometimes about privately taking them to court if the league won't act claiming injury and harm. Set a precedent, after all we have a good law company sponsoring us.
WAKE UP!!

This so-called "good law company" is a no-fault compo law firm - absolute bottom dwellers of the legal fraternity!!

Same Chairclown who has fired off empty legal threats to the NRL on an annual basis - all amounting to hot air as there was no viable legal case to be made!

There are risks the players accept when they take the field. Unless an injury is inflicted in a manner completely outside of any foreseeable risk (eg stabbing), then it wouldn’t fly in court.

The only way to take on a bloke like Tino is to fight fire with fire.
Steph, Twal dont have it in them…it was Klemmer’s job.
100%

No-one met Mo and Tino head on when they started to get their tails up. They rolled over, which was more reminiscent of 2022 than 2023.

Stef should've been that guy. That's a big part of what's missing at this stage of his career. He needs consistency and to grow into that pack leader.

Humans don't have bumpers, they have forearms and elbows. The arms need to be tucked into the body to brace for contact or to use the hand to fend. You're not allowed to push your forearm forwards into the head of shorter players.

Parents with small kids who wannt to play league will be watching how this pans out.
This is exactly what Klemmer does. He does lean into every tackle but his arms always stay down by his side. Tino lifts crossed forearms into the attacker.

I think the side-on footage is pretty damning. It's not specifically about Api; how is any shorter player supposed to avoid or prepare for a player who lifts his forearms really late and leads with those into the tackle?

edit: match review Luke Patten says "The panel felt that Tino Fa’asuamaleaui was not leading with the forearm or the elbow, and the ball-carrying arm was tucked against the chest to secure the ball coming into contact with the defending player."

That last shot is a player with a tucked arm? Must need my eyes checked.

NRL.com have Bateman at 15 runs for 111m and 56 tackles with 4 missed and 1 ineffective at 91.8%.
Yes I see that. They have changed their stats for him. The ones I quoted were still posted to that site more than an hour after that game. Big difference…

Far out. Crap weekend for me and others. Can’t believe how much a game of footy, a loss, affects me. It’s truly sux. But anyway I get over it. We started to go ok once when had 2.5 of 4 in the spine. Next week we will have 0.5 of 4. Not looking good well obvious no more wins. We need 4 of 4 in the spine to make a big dent and claim for finals in any given year. It’s been a long time since we did have and the past results are proof. Come on Tigers Board. Make it happen. But am patient. Most names mentioned do not equate to a 1 so please no desperate decisions and contracts. Will only prolong the agony.
