Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Sends a shiver down my spine everytime I see people toss up Taafe, Hawkins, Sezer as our halves option
Far scarier thoughts.
recall Ash Taylor or bring Kane Elgey out of retirement>>>
Brodie Croft.
Brand new starter someone saw playing a reserve grade game?!?!

Maybe there is a bit more bite to the mail that @tigerap or maybe @tigerballs mentioned the other day Fainu and Sanders we are going hard at them both. Brooks may end up at either one of those clubs or he knew what was in the pipeline who knows what’s going on there.
There is a plan to this halfback situation...it will come out in due time..... fans will be happy.

6. Bailey Black. No idea what his contract situation is, but wont break into Storm's first grade side any time soon.
7. Tom Weaver. If Titans won't release him could then ask for Sexton.
But no matter how good they might be, im not real confident a rookie 1, 6 and 7 would be successful.
Maybe two young guns and an old boiler to help steer them … old boiler can come on as a reserve if they’re sh*tying the bed during the game

BS dude… they’ve got no plan … otherwise why offer brooks anything?

You’re insinuating that they’ve low balled brooks on purpose, banking on him to say no, so they can enact their “plan”…?

Lol.

What happens if brooks said yes !

They’d backflip on him?

Simplest conclusion to draw is Pearce to Roosters, Tigers take on another Roosters flop in Walker. More years of woeful performance.

Walker isn’t a flop… just doesn’t suit the way Cronk wants a halfback to play.
Still only 20 years old.
Massive upgrade on Brooks.

My other team I follow closely, the Bengals, had a QB named Andy Dalton for 8 or so years. It was always debated whether he was good or not as he'd get them to the playoffs but then not play well in those games and, while he had his moments, he tended not to perform well on big occassions. Bengals eventually released him, drafter a new quarterback in Joe burrow and have been to a Superbowl and a AFC championship game in three years. So it worked out well. Dalton has gone on to be a reasonable backup at a number of different teams. Obviously different situations but made me think that long-term players aren't going to change and players in key positions should be accountable for results.

Even in Brooks' best year he wasn't near being the top halfback and players like Cleary, Hynes, Hughes, Cody Walker etc have all emerged and surpassed him since that season. I don't think we're going to win with him, he's just never been the player to step up in big moments even excusing him on the basis of the teams around him being so bad.

It's good for both brooks and the club if he goes.
