Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

You've got that arse backwards.
Parra did us the favour taking a 600k bench player/ reserve grader off our hands.
Thank you Parra. We appreciate your help.
600k now?
I wonder if Joffa knows how much he was on…no one else seems to.

Reactions: BZN
What have they helped us with?
Clearing 600k from our salary cap for a player who respected the Occupational Health And Safety of his opponents enough to gently run at them before collapsing at the first hint of contact, then rising to argue with the tackler and give the defence plenty of time to be ready to smash the next poor Wests' sucker unfortunate enough to be the next hit up.
In defence he was kind enough to assist the ball runner to a pillow top mattress landing all the while respecting their need to not be physically harmed.
This is a debt we will never be adequately able to repay Parra.

You don't rate Jofa, and that's fine but you don't think it may have been wise to actually replace his roster spot? Because the rainy day NEVER arrives for WT. We just try to compete with an already shit squad and stay well under the Cap.

From Weidler’s column today:

Clouds remain over Sheens’ future

We were chastised by rival media for suggesting a few weeks back that Tim Sheenscould be headed for an early exit from his coaching duties at Wests Tigers.

At that point we didn’t say it was locked in, but talk of Sheens not seeing out his two-year deal as head coach won’t go away.
Sheens is said to be perplexed by what is happening at the club, and he is angry that he has lost his right-hand man, Warren McDonnell, his former head of recruitment. The significance of that is McDonnell was regarded as a non-negotiable when it came to Sheens taking the job.

A few weeks ago, Sheens was blindsided by a tweet we put out saying Scott Fulton was heading for the Tigers. Sheens was not part of the negotiations that secured one of the sharpest recruiters in the business. The relationship between Sheens and Fulton will be worth watching.

Fulton’s signing was shrewd but for Sheens it’s a red flag, no matter how the club wants to spin it. Then there was a promise that the recruitment men could work together, given, the story went, that they had strengths in different areas.

Fulton has the full backing of Tigers chief executive Justin Pascoe and chairman Lee Hagipantelis — he was their most-prized recruit — so he is in a position of strength. Fulton was always going to survive the recruitment power struggle, and now he has the keys to the playing roster.

What will be interesting is how much say Sheens has. Sheens caught some at the club by surprise with his recent declaration that the club was going to offer much-maligned halfback Luke Brooks a new contract.

Not everyone at the Tigers thinks Brooks is the solution and the future of the club. The Tigers had a crack at signing Shaun Johnson in a clear indication that not everyone wants Brooks to stay. Sheens did not respond when contacted for comment.

Well, he’s not exactly setting the world on fire.
Remember it was Sheens decision to boot Maguire.
Live by the sword….
They played poor on Thursday with out a doubt. Sheens has the players improving imo in a way we at the Tigers havnt seen in years. We all know our major problem in a fully fit side is our halves atm that's what needs the attention recruitment wise. Our last 2 months have been pretty good, just can't get over the line but the team has been playing well, players have been improving, I was a critic of Sheens hiring but iv come around Imo I think he's done a good job.
All we need is a controlling half and imo we are finals bound. Thursday night we got back into it till Api got hurt then their heads went down and the players looked defeated. Wakeham and Talau both had the worst games in their careers, it'll be interesting to see the resolve of the players next week. Without Api our attack will be useless. But in defence if the guys put in all game then imo it's a sign the guys are buying in and were on the up

Sheens is definately part of the problem however the other parts of the problem are the muppets who make the decisions at the club and NEVER have to face the consequences for their idiocy. The whole collective bunch are holding the club back.To the people who sit at the top it just seems to a power and ego exercise for them and they think they are more important than the club itself .

The name missing from that article is Marshall. What is his opinion of Fulton and McDonnell? Is the club simply supporting the future coach over the current coach, and if so has this strained the relationship between Sheens and Marshall?

Yep i agree Marshall or Farah are never mentioned, i think the failure of McDonell to get Moses was the final nail in the coffin for him. I would not be surprised in the slightest if Sheens moves aside for Benji and Robbie next season. I think Benji is and was well aware of what was going on in the background and this could be where this friction that keeps coming up is coming from.
