I think it is because our pack is not at all dominant. They are the best pack weve had for a decade, but not a dominant pack. More like a mid tier pack. Also lacking a forward that can play as a 'link man' to help create space for our halves.
I think our dangerous fullback is still clearly learning his trade. He misses his assignments in attack more often than not. It is his abilities with individual efforts that make him dangerous.
I think we only have the one half that is any threat in attack. Wakeham being no threat means all the defensive attention (once Api releases the ball, as he is obviously also a threat) is on the one first grade standard half.
Finally, i think Brooks himself has his own short comings. Despite these, he is a decent player, certainly better than any other half currently on the market. He is just unfortunate that he has spent his career at a club that is a decade long failure and he has now decided he wants to go to a club set up to give him an opportunity to succeed.

The reality: Sheens has been in the UK. We don't sign Brooks it's probably Brodie Croft or some other hasbeens. I am kinda okay-ish with this because I think we should drive from the front row. Sign Frizell or some other forward powerhouse. If we don't win, at least we will be feared.
