Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I noticed Gus said it was a Wests Tigers problem, not a Luke Brooks problem. Either way I have no issue letting Brooks go if we have his replacement (better) lined up, however I’m expecting a Hail Mary for next year if Fulton doesn’t deliver. I love to understand what Sheens and Benji think.
If Gus thinks so highly of brooks he can sign him for the dogs, I'm guessing he won't be rushing to get his cheque book out .....

Gus isn't exactly wrong in saying the club as a whole has a problem.
Not going to get into the amount of offer as I think $625K+ would've been more reasonable. But re: negotiations if true, setting a deadline seems a little duplicitous.
Plus it's not just Brooks that hasn't shown much growth in over a decade. We've been stagnant and basically running on fumes.
We've already gone off course with our planning by moving Sheens from a job that was not only benefiting our team rebuild but reputation too.

It sends a strong message about the professionalism of the club.

Usually agree with you Lauren but I beg to differ on a couple of your points. If the offer reported is correct, it's more than enough for Brooks. His form over a number of years doesn't warrant any more.
And, if I'm dealing with Moses, I'd definitely put a deadline on him. He'll just play the offers back and forth with as many clubs who are prepared to make an offer. A deadline, if stuck with, makes it impossible for him to play that game.
Definitely agree we've stagnated, though.
I actually like Luke as a bloke but he's not worth any more than we've reportedly offered.

I see Parra lose key member of their spine and up steps Daejarn Asi who does well .We lose 2 key members of our spine and absolutely nothing from our cup side stands out . WT kept talking up our Pathways at beginning of season
We are devoid of depth and all I hear about players leaving or being told to look elsewhere . Not sure who's running the show our football management or our long standing club executive management ? Should be the former !
I want to see who we are adding! Sick of the endless subtracting !
What's hilarious is that we offered Asi a gig and he knocked us back for the eels. So both their first and second choice halves knocked us back. Probably why Fulton got the job.

That amount is based off the current halves available and an estimate taken from the report I shared, last week, from the NRL disclosing valuations.
That's fair.

Funny - Brooks money wasn’t mentioned until last season… by anyone.
Reading here you’d think he’s been on 1.2 million dollars for the last 10 years,..
He’s had a couple years on overs - and a couple years on unders early on,..

No matter how you look at it
- We CAN NOT replace Luke Brooks for 500k…
Won’t happen - even second stringers are on close to that…
I'll bet you $100 we can find a second stringer for less who can take us to 16th or 17th place.

Unfortunately Fulton has to wear the same brand as McDonnell when he puts forward an offer. It’s not the person it’s the club they represent.
Can’t agree , Fulton may be a much more better negotiator and he may land players we need , time will tell if he has the goods to get these guys over to the Tigers

Stayed with Wests when Woods, Teddy and Moses left ✅
Tigers recruited very badly at that time ✅
Has played 200 NRL games and is 28yo ✅
There are no good halves on the market ✅

Maybe our definition of facts is different 🤨

More referring to saying he is a good player. Definitely subjective.

I admit Brooks has played fairly well from round 6 onwards .My problem is more to do with previous years . He might not like our 550k offer but hard to imagine him getting much more elsewhere .
By the way How's our Recruitment going ? Has Fulton signed anyone yet ?
Just wondering
Question has he ever signed a good player ?

Macca has signed better players

Did he say that? I know he said the Tigers don’t have a Brooks problem, Brooks has a Tigers problem. Which implies he’d be better elsewhere. I guess that’s the subjective part.

That wonderful resource known as Facebook. 😉
But... more importantly hats and scarves are still available. Silk for summer - woolen winter ones. Support your team.

Been screaming for this for nearly forever…. I’ve watched him play closely for a while always had my eye he’s gonna be a terrific first grader

He’s the one.

If we want a 7 it has to be him

You've watched him closely. Why don't I believe you????? Unless he is a cousin or friend or friend of a friend. Or. Unless you are the next Scott Fulton.
