Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Hunt and Puru brothers would be nice. That’d sort both halves and lock, allowing Bateman to go back to second row.

Pezet also would be quite nice. Still maintain that Fogarty would’ve been perfect when he was clearly on the outer at Titans, not sure if the club made a play for him or not.

Ah well. Knowing us we will have halves of Drew Hutchinson and Wakey next year with Talau and Will Smith as understudies

Tonight, was the perfect example of a team that has some great potential but lack halves BIG TIME.

Surely the powers that be can see this and get off there seats and go and buy them. If we had a Hunt / Moses/ Reynolds etc.. we Win this game.

I do not care for one bit if we have to pay way overs for them as that's the difference..

I would be asking Roosters about walker if we cannot get a Hunt type player.

Other teams know all they have to do now and pressure Wakeham as NO other player kicks the ball.
Unfortunately the brains trust decided to leave the tigers extremely thin on depth in the halves. They let 2 half backs go and signed Wakeham at the last minute. Can’t get leaders much dumber than ours.

Clearly not a lock and I can’t recall him making one line break this season as a second rower either.
Add that he’s only ran for more than 100m once all season.
He’s not anywhere near a 700k per season player and he will only get worse as he gets older over the next few seasons.

Could be an unpopular opinion but if Mitchell Moses signed and he’s our 7 instead of Wakeham with our whole team fit we’re a top 6 side.

I truely believe it - we have the ship we just need someone to steer it
I get your point and yes Moses would make a massive difference. I also don't want to change much with the team.

However, we have several issues aka halves, centre/centres, bench, squad depth. We are not a club that superstar players will go to. Every team will get injuries in a season and we don't have the players to come in and do the job. Whilst players like Tupou, Pole, Matamua, Da Silva etc are going to be great they're not seasoned first graders yet and I think we'll be much stronger in a few years when these kids are confident

Ben Hunt wants to return to Queensland immediately however he has held discussions with the Bulldogs in recent weeks.

The Titans are ready to strike with a $900,000 a year offer. Hunt’s current million dollar deal at the Dragons dips below that next season. Hunt is not the only player dissatisfied at the Dragons. The likes of Jack Bird, Jaydn Su’A and Zac Lomax have also expressed their concerns to their club management. (DT)

I'd put my money on the Dolphins, uncle Wayne is scheming in the background no doubt.

to quote you "Then we got rid of bad forwards and went and got some good ones, and it made no difference to Brooksy's game, but then this year contract finishes" so in the same year we got better forwards, they made no difference, its only because its a contract year. I'd say it is just as likely, if not more likely that he has improved because of the improved forward pack.
So why the bloody hell did he not show improvement last year.

If Hunt goes to the Titans I’d go for Tannan Boyd goes 100mph and can kick goals.

I agree but I feel like injuries are playing a factor, our team as a whole next year looks like this:

1. Jahreem Bula
2. David Nofoaluma
3. Stafford To’a
4. Adam Doeuihi (personal opinion)
5. Junior Tupou
6.
7.
8. Stefano Utoikmano
9. Api Korisau
10. David Klemmer
11. Isaiah Papalili
12. Shawn Blore
13. John Bateman

14. TDS
15. Alex Twal
16. Justin Matamua
17. Fonua Pole

Depth: Charlie Staines, Asu, Naden, Feledy, Atasi James, Rua, Simpkins, Christian Ma’anaimo (recall him having big wraps) and Saukuru

Our squad looks good, but there’s a reason I left out the 6 and 7 they’re the make or break for our club to do something productive and make a statement

You’re got 2 front teeth missing from your list, who’s going to fill those spots?
